Hi Doc

I have been reading info on Provillus a DHT blocker that is said to work for as long as i take it unlike other drugs (propecia) that stops working after 5-6 years. Do you know if this is true as i dont look forward to start losing hair again and be back were i started.Could you also tell me any info on Provillus tnat you have. thanks

This sounds like a load of bull. Claims like this are not only illegal (from an FDA point of view), but unethical as well. This opinion seems to be common from reviewers of the product on the web.

    Hi Doc,

I bought Provillus now, after I read mixed reviews on it. Some say it work, others say it don’t.

Is there really a product that works, without a doubt? Or is all hairloss restore products money making scemes, because they know, that bald people will do anything to get their hair back. Provillus says they will refund a person, if they do not see any results, but some people say, they did not get their money back, after no results.

    Can you please help me.
    Thank you

    Provillus Is Terrible says:

Provillus is another “me too” generic product that rips off the ingredients of real hair loss products, produces a “watered-down” version of their own using substandard, cheaper ingredients, and then uses claims that go completely against the FDA’s regulations for dietary supplements. The company also makes lots of other cheap versions of weight loss, breast enlargement, and penis enlargement pills. Stay away from them, use a proven product.

I started losing hair at the age of 20, and my mother found this product online. I tried it for about 3 months and did actually notice some hair growth where my hair was thining out. My hair stoped falling out as well. However, once i stoped using it, i had the same problem as before. Now, one of the main components is Saw Palmento, which you can actually buy anywhere and see if it works. I did take Saw Palmento prior to taking Provillus, but it did absolutely nothing.
Their return policy is horrible though. I was actually going to return it after 1 month because of some allergic reaction that, as i found out later, had nothing to do with taking Provillus. Their customer service sent me 4 pages of instructions and it just wasn’t worth my time to go through all of that.

    Provillus is a ripp-off product.

The active ingredient in the topical solution is simply plain-old minoxidil which is the generic version of Rogaine. The minoxidil has been mixed with a weak, vinegar-like acid which the manufacturer’s claim improves the effectiveness; however, they have NO research or clinical studies to back up this claim. Also, you can buy generic minoxidil at any drug store for a lot less money.

The second part of the product is a dietary supplement which contains mostly B vitamins and Saw Palmetto (in the men’s version of the product). Neither B vitamins nor Saw Palmetto has ever been proven to help treat hair loss; also, you can buy generic supplements of these substances at any drug store for a lot less money. Saw Palmetto can interfere with sleep and cause upset stomach, and sometimes it causes sexual side effects in men–in some people it has interfered with the ability of their blood to clot, so taking it may increase the risk of bleeding. The product also contains Nettle root which can interefere with many common blood pressure medications.

The product is manufactured and marketed by Ultra Herbal LLC a company headquartered in the West Indies on the Island of Nevis in the country of St. Kitt and Nevis–it has subsidiaries and affiliates in various countries–apparently, at least one of its affiliates Ultra Herbal Ltd in the U.K. has had so many consumer complaints that the company itself claims on its provillus.com website that it severed its ties with its affiliate (which seems a little strange since parent companies usually setup, own and control their subsidiaries–and it makes the claim seem potentially like the parent company may be simply trying to walk away from responsibility by setting up various operating subsidiaries in different countries to shield itself from legal liability).

The U.S. distributor affiliate is based in Burbank, CA. Ultra Herbal sells all sorts of dietary supplements and a quick web search shows that there are least a few customers who claim they have never received their orders from Ultra Herbal, or the products have not worked.

I would caution anyone to steer away from companies like Ultra Herbal which claim to have a miracle new formula to treat hair loss. The main product in Provillus–which again is simply Minoxidil–may produce modest results for some people if used consistently for several months–AND if use continues permanently after the results. A few people respond very well to minoxidil and get better results than average. However, for many people minoxidil is too slow and the results–and remember some people NEVER see results–are too modest for it to be worth the money and effort. It seems Provillus is simply a repackaging of a product which has been out there for years, and for many people doesn’t give the results they want–this is why people continue to spend billions on alternative hair loss treatments.

If a product really effectively and quickly regrows hair for most people who use it, then trust me you will HEAR about it on the news. You want have to search the Internet desperately hoping to find some undiscovered “miracle.”

I would stay away from Provillus. If hair loss upsets you that much and you want real hair growing back in your head then you might consider hair transplant surgery–although it is expensive, usually takes more than one surgery, and like all surgeries, it has risks.

Have to say guys, I had read a lot of sites singing the praises on Provillus. And I was concerned at the DUBIOUS origins of them (none of them were sites I had heard of before). But I stumbled across this site and read the information, all of which I was able to back up by checking the information on the provillus site. I was moments away from putting in my credit card. And you saved me. I think I will head to the drug store and by myself generic minoxidil and try that, rather than spending a MINT on a watered down version. Hell, after saving so much money, I may even buy a bottle of saw palmetto.

Thanks for keeping em honest guys!!

Do yourself one quick favor and try to navigator through one of these “neutral and impartial” websites – try to move from page to page within the sites. It becomes rather obvious when there are hot buttons planted internally on web-pages which direct you to the Provillus sales page! So? From an alledgedly impartial and neutral website!?!

They even go so far as to capture the search engine tool -“Provillus Scams” directing you to BaldingTony. Try sending an e-mail response to his blog at the bottom of the page.

I do appreciate the posts on this site – thank you for saving me a bundle!!

I think disTrustMichael and disHonestJonathan are more descriptive of the thrust of these “blogs” for which there is neither a home page nor other blogging happening. A WHOIS investigation reveals the dubious similar origins of these sites. A product has to be pretty bad to require this deceptive of an approach to market it. Caveat emptor!

I can see little hairs regrowing where hair was being lost before. I used rogain before provillus and stopped using it because I got no results except for an itchy scalp. I do understand that my hair loss was unnoticeable to all but I saw it, and now provillus is bringing it back there is not much more I can say. Try other products or dont everything works different for other people. Good luck to all and lets fight this hair loss problem together!

I can 100% promise you, from looking at the sites source code, that it has provillus all over it. also, im 100% sure that “tony” and “jonathan” would NOT pay money to be listed at the top of Googles search results LOL!! Also, each of those sites are exactly the same layout, and they ALL have the same interstitial drop-in box linking to provillus! One of my favorites is on the baldingtony website. They have pictures of Tony….BALD!! hahaha…must be a real good product. You can obviously tell that those pictures were probably done professionally…Tony probably isnt a professional photographer with experience in photoshop for touching up images..

One thing that has always puzzled me about these 100% satisfaction advertisements hair loss etc., is that they never give a 100% return on your investment if the product does not work as represented. For instance, I can promise you the “fountain of youth” in a pill for only $49.95/month with a similar 100% money back claim and I can laugh all the way to the back to the bank with your money. All a scam artist has to do is to provide a “placebo” as the product and charge $18 -$25 as the shipping and handling portion of the costs. That is where the real money is made. The scam runs on the back of the pocketed shipping and handling costs, not the product itself. A manufacturer can give refunds back as fast as orders come in if they keep the shipping and handling funds. There are a few true 100% Money Back Guarantee out there. One that comes to mind is the Orick Vacuum Cleaner. (Note: I don’t sell or even own one but, I am familiar with their product and guarantee). In that instance the buyer gets a full purchase price, shipping and handling costs returned. Now that is standing behind a product! Let’s see one of these “hair restorer” advertisers provide the same backing for one of their products.

P.S. If you need to take out the named vacuum cleaner before posting, please do.

I, to, was about to ordered up the $200 6 month supply, since everyone stated it took several months to see results.

I did order the full year supply of Procede. It did nothing. It did not burn, it did not promote hair growth nor thickening, it was only a waste of a day every three months. I still using the shampoo and conditioner, since I have it.

Much has been said about their corporate structure and lousy return policy, but no-one can say, nor has said it didn’t work. Amazing.

I just ordered it for my wife. Then I read these negative comments and felt bad I did. But reading them again, there are (at least) two positive reports, and the rest is just corporate bashing. What a waste of time.

I have been using Provillus for 2.5 months now and I have actually seen some results. I can see the new hairs growing. I can tell they’re new because they’re shorter than the others and my hair feels different somehow. This product does work. I had tried a similar product a few years ago called “Aloette Radiance” and they were a dietary supplement as well. Their main pitch wasn’t the fact that it might regrow hair, it was for healthy looking skin and nails etc.
Even if this product doesn’t regrow hair… it won’t hurt you to try it! The least it will do is make your skin and hair look healthy if it doesn’t grow hair back.
There is also a product called “Biofen” which claims it might regrow some hair. The ingredients are similar to that in Provillus. I bought a bottle of Biofen for a backup in case my Provillus shipments are late or something.
I’d also like to quickly comment on the ‘return policy’ posts I’ve seen here. When I ordered Provillus, i only ordered a 2 month supply. After the 2 months, i actually saw results like I said. I then ordered a 4 month supply. The shipment got lost or hung up in Customs or something (i live in Toronto by the way). I emailed them stating that i hadn’t received my order. After a few days, they reshipped my order at no charge. I ended up receiving both orders on the same day! 8 bottles for the price of 4! Can you beat that?

Anyway, i agree with the other posts here stating DONT KNOCK IT TILL YOU TRY IT.

PS: JOE, if you say I work for Provillus or that i’m affiliated with them, we will all know for sure you’re lying! I’m a sys admin living in Toronto and have absolutely no affiliation with Provillus at all.

    1) Provillus is a scam.

Tried Procerin and Provillus one year apart with mixed results. Both caused a temporary reduction in fallout in the first 120 days with a noticeable spread of vellus hairs at the four month point. None had any affect at arresting my receding hairline. At the six month point, I felt like I was back at ground zero with no real gains. The vellus hairs started to evaporate and never showed any signs of thickening. Did experience some insomnia and some mild sexual side effects which I attribute to the Saw Palmetto. Just fyi, I am an athlete and I was using 5% Minox for a couple of years and did experience some heart palps from time-to-time, so be careful with that. Minox did not regrow hair for me, but did arrest hair loss and had noticeable improvement in thickness and hair length. On the herbals, my recommendation is SAVE YOUR MONEY. I’ve tried a lot of stuff and they have all been shiite. Something to think about. Have you ever known anyone who was suffering from hairloss who made a reversal who did not have a transplant? Beware of any claims that boast of recovery before the four month point since that is contrary to the natural hair cycle. I am currently trying the amazinglaserbrush (cheaper alternative), so I will post my results sometime in May. Sorry for the choppy thoughts as my coffee hasn’t kicked in. Cheers!

Sounds like an awesome plan, and I’m sure you will see some positive effect. It seems the more aggressive the problem the less can be expected, but in any case you will probably see less fallout and some fine hairs start soon.

What you should make sure you do right away is look very closely and take a mental note as to how many small fine hairs you have, and watch for a change on that level first. If you don’t take an “inventory” now you may not realize what it’s doing till much later.

One should note about the negative comments above; they almost never say it did nothing, and they are almost all directed to their corporate strategy. So, while I was skeptical at first, and still am, you should be encouraged by all of the positive posts here.

So good luck. I’m 1.5 mo’s in and quite happy.

I just wanted to let everyone know that this “guy” Dave is full if SHxx! I just got through using a six month supply of Provillus religiously (pills and minoxidil morning and night) and I can very honestly say that they did not help! In truth, I have lost hair since switching to Provillus from a different hair loss product which also wasn’t working.
For the first couple of months my head was almost unbearably itchy. Another side effect that you will get with continued use is scalp acne. Yeah, I’m talking deep, inflamed scalp pimples. This alone should be enought to keep you from using it!!! Brad (post #46) has some good advice. I think we should all focus on our strongest traits. Hair loss sucks!

I bought Provillus about 6 weeks back probably in desperation more than anything. I naively saw a bunch of positive webpages and blogs and thought it may be worth a shot.

Shortly after ordering the stuff I found some negative feedback with accusations of scams etc. Felt like a total dick as I really didn’t think I was the kind of guy to fall for that kind of thing being a reasonably balanced and sceptical person by nature….

Anyway, I am so glad I did. After 6 weeks I am seeing some incredibly positive results. My hair is so thick and healthy and feels completely different than prior to use. It is early days yet so we’ll see but I am genuinely pleased if not somewhat suprised with the results.

I do agree that Provillus markets aggresively and even somewhat decietfully and from what I’m hearing the “return policy” is a total scam which brings me mixed emotions giving a positive endorsement on such a company but the fact is it is working for me. My hair loss is at the early stages and I don’t necessarily think it would work for everyone but I am seeing positive results.

You can be sceptical about this post. I would indeed encourage a certain amount of healthy sceptisism! I’m not trying to convince anyone of anything. I just felt the need to post this in light of my results and seeing many people who have not even tried the product dismissing it as a scam. I think the Ultra Herbal company are not entirely genuine in their dealings but I for me the actual product has been good so far. Will update further in months to come.

I have tried the product for 10 days now(just the pills since the lotion never arrived). I started to get shortness of breath and tightened chest and it became very uncomfortable to breath so I went online and started to research the side effects about Provillus. Of course there are not many reported (just a few) since there has not been any medical research done for this product so I researched the side effects of Palmetto and this is what I found:
The most common complaints involve the stomach and intestines, and include stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, bad breath, constipation, or diarrhea. Similarly, reports of headache, dizziness, insomnia, depression, breathing difficulties, muscle pain, high blood pressure, chest pain, abnormal heart rhythm, and heart disease have also been reported.

All I have to say is this: what is more important to you? Your looks or your health. Once you know that, then you know how to decide wither Provillus is for you or not. And adding to that, nothing even guarantees that Provillus does work. I wish there was a better way for governments to monitor the “magic potions” these companies profit from on the depression of general public and punish them for lying.

Bee, maybe you should call them and ask what the heck is going on. Because on one website it clearly shows the lotion and you take the link directly off that site and it disappears. But if for some reason they don’t sell the lotion then you can always buy Rogaine off EBay for pretty cheap.

But it depends what you wanna do. Personally, over the years, I always started with one thing at a time to see what it did. If you start with two you won’t know which one works.

So, you have to decide which you prefer, to take the pills or apply the lotion. If you like the idea of the lotion then just go to EBay and order some Rogaine. If you prefer the pills then you know where they are.

Again, I’m not trying to push anyone one way or the other. I’m just letting you know what I did, and if Provillus works for me.

If you want to see more info on a variety of products and like a lot of opinions and advice, feel free to check out that site I posted in my post #87. Those guys know a lot more about this than me. All I know is what’s working for me.

    Gents,

I am from Saudi Arabia. I read through the Provillus website and purchased 6 bottles which did not reach me. I wrote to them and requested a re-shipment with a traking number to follow the shipment after they claimed they sent the 1st shipment. They re-shipped the goods but did not give me a traking number. The second shipment did not reach me too! I requested a full refund and they quickly refunded all my money after deducting the shipment fees. After a few months, I received an e-meil from them stating that someone has received the two shipments and gave me his phone number and that I am free to collect the shipments to try them at no cost to me. I phoned the guy who turned out ot be a distant relative and discovered that Ultra Herbal mis-printed my PO Box number. Anyway, I received 12 bottles for free and used 9 of them so far and I can’t say there was any progress what so ever. I am lucky that I got my money back and would agree that if the stuff is not certified by a recognized association like FDA or similar, then the stuff is just a Bull’s S.

Hi I’ve been using provillus for approximately 2 years now and have to admit that my hair has not grown back at all. But what it did do was thicken up the existing hair I have. I have no more thin patches and can pass for a man who has not experienced hair loss yet. I think the trick is to take the stuff in the earlier stages of hair loss! If taking provillus means keeping baldness at bay until something cheaper and more permanent is avaliable, then so be it.

This is all very confusing & frustrating. I figure there are different reasons for people going bald. They say out of 5 men, one will keep his hair for life, another will go bald very quickly and the remaining 3 will gradually go bald over the course of their life. It is what it is boys….

I’m 43 and only recently have I experienced a sudden and intense thinnning & recession on my crown & forehead. I make great money and figure what-the-heck, perhaps I’ll be one of the people who experience results. I’ve heard time and again that DHT is the reason hair dies….so we’ll see. I’m expecting & hoping for some improvments….but in all I expect at best it’ll just stave-off some hair loss for another decade or so.

Time will tell, the only thing for certain is I’ll be out a few bucks. If this is a scam, I wish all the worst karma on the schiesters pushing it….what comes around goes around, so….whatever.

Funny reading this blog. first of, positive to finally find a place where indeed it seems to be real people debating…but who knows? you could all be good Dave bad Dave all in one. I have bought the 6 month supply, and ofcource felt like a dumbass when I read about them being hustlers. I havn´t been in to this hairloss fetish long and still have some naive faith. My situation is this: I´m in my late 30´ties. 7 years ago I discovered that my hair was thining and have done nothing to this day. I still have my hair, meaning no bald spots, but on top it is not as rich looking as before. So I´m thinking I´m loosing it quite slowly. What botheres me the most about this ordeal is the mindgames I play on myself: constantly looking in the mirror to see deteriation, wearing all kind of lameass headgear, going to the bathroom everytime I come into a new place to check if the remains are in place, getting paranoid of peoples looks; why did she/he look at my hair, im sure they noticed.. oh but they did!, being aware where the bright lights in the room are, and moving out of them…wft! I kina wish someone would invent a product that would just take it all off. You know…so I didn´t have to bother with this twilight state anymore. So that it would be obvious to all; this guy is bald, has no hair..none, so be it!. So I can just leave it behind and get on with it. I am aware that hairloss is nothing but an extremely narcasistic matter and I wish I could rise above it but my brain is going nuts and I keep findig myself in this limbo state where I keep trying to hide it, and its killing me. Therefore I thought I´d give it a go. I looked very briefly into it on the web, and what I being told is this: dht kills the hair, so get stuff that keeps dht at a minimum. I bought this shampoo kit called nioxin and have tried it for a few days, to early to tell ofcource, and I bought, as I mentioned, the provillius 6 month supply, and thought it´ll be a combo: take some stuff internally and put some other stuff on top of the head and let the two be the rock and the hard place so to speak. Anyways I mostly need a place to record my “progress” and thought this forum would be appropiate. Any comment would ofcource be very appriciated.

I’ve read basically this entire blog and it seems fairly interesting. There seems to be quite a few people that brand provillus as a scam simply because it did not work in each of their specific cases. The refund issue seems to be a point of contention. What I want to know is why in hell’s name is there different versions of its website? I go to provillus.com by typing it myself and I see a product that makes no mention of a topical solution or even having monoxidil (excuse spelling)in it at all! More strange is the fact that if you go to buyprovillus.com (a link posted by one of the bloggers) then it takes you to a virtually identical website with a similar offer BUT this one prominently displays the topical solution and lists monoxidil as first ingredient describing it as the only FDA approved drug for hairloss. I think I’m a fairly objective person in how I approach things, but to me this is very sketchy. How can this company possibly state the importance of monoxidil and then, on another slightly different version of the website, not even list in the ingredients panel AT ALL? It doesn’t add up – there’s a chance it works for some but the company is obviously not putting their best foot forward with this one.

I’m sorry, but I don’t have any before pics. Proscar was working quite well for me so I really didn’t expect an improvement, I only hoped my gains would not be lost.

If I could take a picture that would show the smaller hairs clearly, and if this site would allow pictures, I might do that, but I tried to take a picture and it didn’t turn out well enough.

But, this thread is not about me. I would rather hear from other users than post myself. Testimonials from others, one way or the other, are more important. Although I am already making my own conclusions about the product. So far, so good. But in a few months who knows?

But there are other links I have found which include comments from other users of Saw Palmetto, so if you want those let me know.

Hi again, I messaged a few weeks ago saying that I had been trying a combo of minoxidil and provillus to regrow my thinning hair, and stated that further usage would be required to see results…. Well, I think it’s working. I had a thinning patch on the crown of my head and the very centre of this patch was bald! ..Now, the same area has hair over it, not thick or long hair, yet, but hair non-the-less. The patch, which always made me self concious and parranoid is now much less obvious so I shall certainly be buying some more provillus (I only purchased 2 months worth you see) to continue growing these new hairs. If your thinking of trying Provillus, I would say buy 2 months worth first to see if it works for you and then continue with it if you see results. Hello all, I have read this entire blog, and now have to share my story. I am about to be 26, and started loosing my hair about 4 years ago. The firts thing I ever tried was a hairloss clinic. I paid about $5,000 for a 6 month treatment of sitting under a laser twice a week, and I was given shampoo, herbal pills, finasteride, and a 5% minoxidil topical solution. I was told that once I finished my treatment, I would only need to continue to take 1 pill a day of finasteride, and that would keep all of my hair. When I started the treatment at first my hair started to fall out way more dramatic than before, but I was told this was normal and continued the treatment. At the end of the six months, my hair did look a lot better, but I noticed a bad sexual side effect. I quickly found out that it was the finasteride causing this, and discontinued taking the pill. I kept using the topical and the shampoo, and that seemed to work, until one day when I picked up my refill and saw that the topical had changed from a clear liquid to a black liquid. I was told that they had only added liquorish to the formula, but when I began using it, I started to loose my hair rapidly. I discontinued everything, and six months later decided to buy provillus. I bought provillus because the topical looked very similar to the one from the hair clinic (prior to them adding liquorish). I started using the topical but did not care to take the pills because the ingredients are similar to the ones from the clinic, and I do not think they worked for me. After using the topical for the first month, my hair was falling out like crazy. I did not panic because the same thing had happened when I started the program at the clinic. Anyhow, I am now almost done with the forth bottle, and I am quite happy. My hair is falling out considerably less, and it appears to be fuller. My only concern now, is what I am hearing that people are only getting the pills with their orders. I am going to order the six month supply, but I will return if I do not get the topical. Another thing I might get soon is a laser comb. I cannot say that the lasers at the clinic were the reason for my hair growth, but I think it is worth the $500 or so. Anyhow, to sum it all up, provillus (the topical, not the pills) seem to be working for me.

    The story of Dave
(just to be clear I am referring to the Dave that has made multiple posts)

It’s interesting to see his progression through this blogs life span so far. At first he introduces himself as a speculative victim of baldness. He carries on by creating a testimonial for other products he has tried and also claims there effectiveness. So why would he blatantly support another product if he was compromised by Provillus. This is simple, he wants to gain our trust and vanish any suspicions in the fundamental stages of his diversion. Then slowly and steadily the poison seeps out of him. He then commits an act which simultaneously blows his cover and completely discredits his position. He posts a like to Provillus! He questions skepticism with one main point: Did you try it? This is a condensed version of the way he phrases it. At this stage in one might ask himself (you the reader) : Did I try it (Provillus)? The answer probably being no. This is meant to encourage you to do your own research on the product by purchasing it which would provide the most honest results possible. But this comes at cost which varies depending on how much of the product you purchase. And while finding the only true solution to the question of effectiveness the company sells another product and continues the dissemination of dubious remedies. Another way of putting it is: If we all do our own research and buy a bottle we are just fueling their fire to continue the scam and when one scams life is spent then they will fabricant another one and we will all buy into to it until another ones comes along. It’s a sick vicious cycle and our society has conditioned us for it. Hair loss treatments along with breast enhancers, penis enlargers and so on are among the most deceptive and all typically come from the same company. I could go on about this forever but I won’t. My point is don’t give your money to someone you don’t trust because one way or another it’s going to bite you in the ass; it will just be a different disguise. It is our moral obligation not to support this sort of deception and when a product that truly works is release we will all know it. Also, question everything. For instance, how do you know Im not Provillus’ competition? Maybe Provillus really does have the magic solution and everyone else, including myself is merely out to discredit them in fear of loss in business. This sounds like something Dave might say in the future when he presents the grand conspiracy and the fall of Porvillus in a last effort to repair the stinking ship. Maybe or maybe not. Who the hell knows anything. I say we quit caring. If it were only that easy… I’m sorry Dave if you are just an average joe but I can’t help but be suspicious.

I just found this blog and expected to see a variety of posts. I think that the least common denominator we share is anger and some sense of self-diminshment at the “Dagger of DHT” ! We are brothers of the bald and voice our anger at the failure of the current state of “therapy” for hair loss. We are also guardedly hopeful at any positive results and often get sucked in and duped by the hairsute con artists out there!
I have a ton of experiences going back 30 years on this and I’ll have to sort it all out and jump back in to share.
    We’re in this together!

I called the Provillus number found on their website, it seems very real to be a scam, the operator seemed nice, I asked her about the Provillus product and she said that they had it, but didn’t have the lotion or whaterver other bottle comes with it, she said it would come in in a few weeks, but I can’t wait so i’ll order it tomorrow, they said they accept Money Orders, I’ll call and ask for their return policy so I don’t get any surprices if I return it, but I’ll keep hope that it will work.I’ll post results once I get it.

I just got the goods today (Provillus), day 1 is tomorrow. Obviously, it will be several weeks before I see any growth/retention/thickening if it at all. I wil report my observations, no fluff, and if I see negative effects or nothing I will report these data as well. Good luck to all and I will be back in a few weeks with hopefully good news.

posts #75 and #76 are mine and i am back 1 month later…

the good – the existing hairs i have are thicker…dont know how this can be after only less than 2 months on the pills, but it is true….i see hundreds of little white hairs where there was just scalp (thin, lifeless white almost see thru hairs but i assume after years of balding, it will take some time to reverse the decline so i am happy with the growth). i have no sexual side effects whatsoever. i have no chest pain or other side effects except what i will tell you in the next paragraph.

the bad – i have gained weight in my face since taking the pills which isnt cool, and i dont know if its from the pills or just the fact i dont hit the gym as much as i used to. i have slightly (+5) higher blood pressure now than i did before i started. i also have to shave more, trim my chest hair more often, and the hair on my eyebrows has gotten so thick i have to hit them now as before i only used to do the shaving maintenance about half as i do now. these pills arent ‘intelligent’ meaning the hair thickening/faster growth rate isnt only on your head. ive never had a 5 oclock shadow the same day i shaved earlier in the day but i do now.

i will continue the pills, as the hair on my head does overall look healthier in just under 2 months now…ill post again next month.

Ok, i have posted a few times on here now as I am using a combination of minoxidil and provillus. It is working well for me. The bald spot on top of my head is now completely covered in new hairs, which are improving every week. I only bought the two months supply to start with to test if I saw any results and I was so pleased that I recently bought a further four months supply. I would recommend using combinations for the best results, I thik the provillus is growing the new hair and the minoxidil is helping it along. Its not easy having to spend money on treatment every few months, in fact, its a damn right pain in the arse but if its giving me the results I have been searching for, why not… afterall, its only money!! I would rather pay the money and feel confident than not spend it and feel miserable about the way I look! Good luck guys

Hi guys… let me address your concerns about the FDA and regulations. The FDA does not regulate Provillus any more or less than any vitamin or supplement found in GNC, Vitamin World, Walgreens, CVS, and Safeway etc… The only products FDA regulated will have undergone extensive research both in vitro and in vivo that is in the lab and in animal models and eventually human trials. It takes years for a product to be established as FDA approved and this is not conducive to mass marketing and quick-turnover products, thus huge pharmaceutical companies dominate the scene and can afford the years of research (with some huge payoffs following FDA approval). Again this is not to say that all over the counter (OTC) products are not effective or have fake ingredients. All this states is that the potency, dosage, and efficacy has not been established (based on extensive research procedures stated above) thus daily percentages are not available on labels. You should in general be getting what you see stated on the label, if this was not the case and harmful ingredients were being distributed, believe me there would be accountability. I hope this addresses some of your concerns.

    Hi guys,

I’ve started using the supplements a couple a days ago…and I’m not pretty sure if this would work, it’s really early to say. Though, I’m very optimistic about it…I’ll try using it after I’m done with the supplements hehehe. Before I had used another tradename of rogaine with minoxidil and it really works for me after just a month I do see small hairs growing on the balding areas of my scalp…however, the downside is, you really can’t help the itchiness so I decided to quit using it. You can’t keep on running your fingers all over your head most of the time. So it came to a point where some of my colleagues at work asked me if threre’s something wrong with my head I said something drop on my head that’s why I’m wiping it. I always see the bright side of it, not having hair is no worst than a handicap. The reason why I’m trying all the possible products available in the market is to know if there will be something that would work for me and not to regret later that I’ve never tried them. Who knows it might work for you! right? Anyhow, I’m getting use to my look it been more than 2 years. I always shave my hair…and at one point I asked my friends if I look worst without hair compared to the way I used to look like, and guess what some would say they prefer my look without hair, looks neat and clean…Guys, if by chance nothing works out…I think it’s better to invest on something else just like what others said here for the betterment. People will like you for what you are and being true to yourself not because you have thick hair on your head…’m not saying that it doesn’t have a bearing…but guess what? over time it will come to pass. So in conclusion…try something that you would think would work as long as you don’t jeopardize your health in anyway. Make your choice! Cheers!

Well I am not sure maximus still checks this site, due to his negative exerperience. Your headaches might be something else too, maybe provillus but since it has been a month maybe not. It may be signs of something more serious so if these bouts of headaches/dizziness persist or worsen after a few days you should see the doc. Additionally, the half-life of saw palmetto I believe is rather short so by the time you read this post it should be out of your system. This of course assuming saw palmetto is the drug involved. If anyone else has experienced any side effects similar or in what time frame of taking provillus let us know, very intersting. Good luck all

Hey Al and all.. I have no detectable results in about 5 weeks. I do use the over-priced Scalpmed (minoxidil 5% with added ingredients). I have been using the Scalpmed for over 2 years and it has helped overall, primarily with retention and thickening of existing hair, but the recent addition of Provillus thus far has shown me nothing I can notice. I am still holding out for at least 2 months, then I will revaluate the worth of Provillus. So Al, I would stick with it a little longer if you still see nothing after 8 weeks or longer pull the plug. Not all of us will see success with it and Al I fear you and me both are in that group. It simply hasn’t worked for me – no regrowth. I don’t really see that I’ve lost any more hair, but it’s not like it was falling out all the time anyway. Neither my wife nor I notice any improvement in the thickness of my hair either in the front or on top where it is very thin. I will say that when I received an email to reorder, I simply replied that I did not wish to and they responded within a day that I would not receive another shipment. Hey, I’m a 21 year old and I’ve been taking Provillus for almost six months now. I must admit that everytime I get my hair cut it seems to come in thicker every time. That being said whenever my hair gets wet it appears to be just as thin if not thinner. I don’t shampoo everyday but I try to use conditioner. The most frustrating thing about this whole process is that whenever I apply the Midixoil solution it makes the hair in that area seem thinner. So if I apply it to the same areas over and over its hard to tell if the hair is getting any thicker. Ultimatly I know the only solution to the problem will be surgery (unless some breaking developments come out in the scienctific world) and that Provillus probably only slows the process. That being said that might be good enough for some of you, and I wouldn’t discourage buying the product (Its like 180$ for six months, if you own a computer you can most likely afford this) So give a shot, I’m results vary person to person, but I had no side effects (sexual, shortness of breath or heart papS) so there is nothing to lose, its not like it will make your hair fall out even quicker.

Hi everyone… I am 26 and have multiple posts on this site. I have been using Provillus for exactly 6 weeks today and have little to no improvement thus far. I have suspected thickening, but day to day I have not observed definitive results. My main problem is receeding hair line and generally thin hair. Additionally I use, as mentioned above, ScalpMed only at night for the same reasons as posted by several other people. The minoxidil is greasy and makes you look rather ridiculous to wear to work, unless you’re the type who gels on a daily basis. Just at night I soak my entire head and massage it in then I do not shampoo in the morning, only at night. You actually get more volume by not shampooing twice a day, which can leaves the hair flat and sometimes lifeless. However, there is a fine line when you wait too long between shampooing when the hair gets very greasy. So always at night I shampoo, wait about a half hour or longer, then add the minoxidil all over, and go to bed, wake up shower no shampoo, take 2 Provillus and off with the day.

Ok back to Provillus… there are no side effects or for that matter no effects, but at least nothing detrimental. I bought a 2 month supply and I am still considering whether to order more. Good luck all I will be back with an update.

    Dave says:

Well, from what I’ve experenced and from what I’ve read above, there are two kinds of improvements.
    1-New Hair Growth
    2-Maintaining and thickening existing hair

Now remember, I was doing fine with Proscar, so I had a different starting point than some others here. But I saw new hair quite soon, like in a matter of a couple of weeks. Others here have reported the same. It seems to me that if you don’t see anything new after a month or two, I question if you will.

Then there are those who see only the second result, new hair. I experienced that as well, but then had a shed which I did not expect, so I had to “hang in there” to get through that. I don’t think now that I am where I was 6 weeks in, but the new hairs have started again so I’m hanging in there.

So I’ve concluded from what I’ve read here that if new hairs don’t show up within the first two months they may not. So then the only reason to keep on trying is if the second benefit is sufficient for you to stay on this longterm. But if all someone gets is #2, and if they’re not satisfied with that, then why stay on it? Look for something else ASAP.

That’s my understanding from the posts above. Maybe I’m wrong, and someone has had a different experience, but that’s the way I’ve read it.

to answer helpme in post #177, all about me: I am a 39 year old christian male who doesnt lie, doesnt have an agenda, and i have had one hair transplant from bosley, which filled in the front of my hair but left me with a pretty big balding area in the very top of my head and a scar in my head so I cant shave my head anylonger. Provillus possibly or the fact that I changed my shampoo to progaine the very same day i started taking the pills has indeed made my existing hair thicker, but the bald spot is seemingly unchanged. Now i just have very very thick hair on the sides and back, somewhat thick hair in the front, and a horseshoe bald spot in the top of my head. Did you ever see yourself on camera from above like I do when I visit my walmart?!?! I’ll start to take three every two days, maybe it needs to be stronger, well i don’t know yet what to do, oh, and I thought that if you attacked the problem earlier there would be better results but…. i don’t think so, i’m barely 18 and almost three weeks into provillus.

HelpMe what are you doing? You’re taking 3 every 2 days? The prescription is 2 per day. In two days you would have had 4. Your routine ends up with 3(?).

And while some people thought they saw results in a matter of weeks, you’re only 3 weeks in, it’s a little early to throw in the towel don’t ya think?

As for changing the prescription on your own, have a look at the link in the middle of my post #103. Those research papers determined the specific quantities of each active ingredient which would be optimal. Now you’re going to overrule that? I’m sorry, but I would stick to the prescription. But taking 3 in two days instead of 4? I’m sorry, but I just don’t follow that logic.

    All the best!

    Hi guys,

Been reading up on what people throught on the product and came across this blog. I have to say that i might be one of the people thats been on this products for a fair amount of time (6 Months). So i would like to share my experience with everyone.

It took me roughly 2 months before i noticed anything. Started to see small little hairs growing at the edges of my recedding hairline. This got me excited so i kept it up. During this time the rate of hair loss was alot less than before i was on provillus. At the 6 month mark i did notice my hair thicker but not neccessarily more. One important side note is that instead of going bald from front to back, i started to lose some hair on the top of my head.

I am also combinning the pill with Nioxin shampoo and conditioner.

In the end i am still uncertain wheather this product is worth the minimal growth or not.

Helpme, you may want to reread the second half of Steve’s post above you. Once you give up, it’s very hard to change your mind later.

If it doesn’t work, why not try Proscar? You can get it at a pharmacy (by prescription probably) so you don’t have that Credit Card issue, and from my experience, it can be done for like $15.00 a month.

I wanted to add that I have NO side effects from either Provillus or the Finasteride 1mg tablets I take each day. I take two Provillus when I awake with bottled water and I take the 1mg Finasteride at dinner time. I\’m 34 years old and I noticed when I was about 29 that the left frontal part of my scalp was \”thinning\” and I didn\’t realize they had anything you could take to do something about it. I let the years pass mostly because I had what I considered quite a bit of hair and it still covered up okay. As time has passed it has revealed it\’s thin look .My hair is somewhat bizarre in that I don\’t have the \” vertex\” balding and even one side of my head still seems okay to me in that ( I part my hair down the middle) I have good coverage but my other front side is clearly balding. I tried to comb my hair a bit different but I can\’t really do much with it as I have straight hair that I can\’t do too much with. I guess I\’m not ready to shave my head and if I do I can\’t decide how to ask the barber how to cut it so I\’m not totally bald but maybe so that the contrast is better. It seems like a silly thing to think or worry about but I just can\’t bring myself to give up and shave my hair. My brother is eight years older than me and has a full head of hair….it\’s not as full as it use to be but he has a balanced look where mine is not.I\’m hopeing I can maintain what I have and get some \” terminal \” hairs on that \” mid scalp \” region where it is balding more.

I have gone through this entire blog and have visited quite a few Provillus websites as well. I haven’t tried it and really I’m probably not going to but mainly because they aren’t selling the whole product. It sounds to me like Provillus does work if you use both the topical and pill together but if you try to order it they only send you the pill and not the topical. I say that because from the sounds of it, all those it hasn’t worked for seem to be those that only use Provillus(aka just the pills) and don’t have any of the topical gunk with the Minoxodil or however its spelled.

In the end however, my question is this.. How can you BUY an INCOMPLETE solution. How can they SELL and INCOMPLETE solution and still ask for the same money AND still vouch for its effectiveness as being just as good as without the topical. The only reason I wont buy this product is because it is incomplete. I intend to wait a year, maybe a bit more and do a little research further. I don’t think its worthwhile to “try it before knocking it” because its like knowing that if you study hard you can get good grades, but if you study halfassed you MIGHT get good grades. They tell you about the complete product and then sell you half the product for the same price.

As far as those people complaining about the return policy, come on guys get real, doesn’t matter what the company is, whether their product is awesome or garbage, rarely is the return policy worth even attempting.

I wish you all the best of luck, I don’t think the company is necessarily scammers even though they’re playing mind games. They’re using intelligent marketing to sell a product, just like Mcdonalds, just like any other company that wants to sell you something. That said, personally I recommend waiting a while and see what happens, if this is the real deal then it will be something you see on a show like Oprah or whatever where there are actual people explaining their amazing results.

I’ll also say this, if you have a good topical treatment, then it might be worth your while to try Provillus out with it because it does sound like the combination will get results.

Rattlesnake, many people say it helps a lot (if not mostly) reduce the fallout. Though this doesn’t guarantee there will not be a shed, as I mentioned in an earlier post.

Dave, I never received any topical solution.

Rattlesnake, I’m under the impression that ” shedding” isn’t necessarily a bad thing if you had a “thin” hair, this is because it needs to shed for a new ” terminal” hair to grow in. It’s part of the natural cycle of hair. From the research I’ve done , those who lose their hair have a process of ” minitirization ” of the hair to the point where the follicle finally dies. Having these thin hairs is the equivalent of going bald and hopefully what can happen is that you can reverse this process over the course of months in order to start growing thick healthy hair again. I wouldn’t necessarily despair if you ” shed” as long as a few weeks months later you regrow a healthy thick hair. This is why I’m not only taking Provillus but 1mg Finasteride and using Nizoral shampoo. I’m going at this from all angles. Herb/ dietary , chemically inside the body and using the Nizoral shampoo to keep things clean on the scalp and I read it was great for use with Finasteride. I figure I’ll do this all for a staright year and see what happens.

I’m back on Provillus for about two weeks now. This is my second bottele. I have one good side effect which is that it made my hair fall less, and my lashes are growing longer and thicker. On the other hand, I noticed that the hair in my face and my bodey is increasing, which I don’t like at all as I’m a woman. Also my eye borrows are getting longer. As I noticed that there are no women on this blog at all and it seems I’m alone in trying these pills.

Dave, I remember you’ve mentioed once that you bought Provillus for your wife. Can you let me know how it is working for her? I want to decided on either to purchase another bottele or stop using Provillus.

Also, I want to ask you all gusy about Provillus ingredients. I noticed that you mentioned about Saw Palmento. The bottele I have there is no mention of it. Here are the ingredients as they appear in the bottele:

Vitamin B6 (as Pyridoxine Hydrochloride) 4 mg
    Biotin 10 mg
Magnesium (as Magnesium Oxide) 150 mg
    Proprietary Blend 1200 mg:
    Horsetail Silica (Equisetum arvense)
    para-Amino Benzoic Acid

Could anyone explain it to me? I also want to know what is Saw Palmento as I don’t know it. Actually I’m not a naive English speaker and this is might be the reason I don’t recognize this herb ;-)

    Thanks a lot in advance.

i mentioned earlier that at about the 6 week mark, i shed a *lot* of hair. well, most of the hair that fell then were thin-ish hair which were thinner than my normal hair. this left my head looking sparser than usual. by now, i think some of the hair around my temples have started to fill-in but my crown is still the same — sparse :( i have started other complementary regiments. revita is one of them (which btw is a very good shampoo).

I had a shed after I think 2 months of strong growth, and was now waiting to get back to that high, but I haven’t yet and like you, I now see mostly the “old faithful” hairs. There are still new hairs coming in, but I don’t think I am even where I was when I started. I am super pleased that the side effects of Proscar are long gone, but being 4 months in now I am not happy to still be waiting to get back to where I was at the start, so I’ve started to use the Proscar again every second day. I’m gonna see if I can have the best of both worlds I guess. It’s just that I have it sitting on the shelf and it’s hard to not use when the combination perhaps is what did the most for me in the past.

Of course I’m surprised I had lost any of the new growth since I kept on with the Rogaine all this time too. But I’ll let you know when I find a balance what it was for me. Again, everyone’s experience is different, but this has been my story so far.

    Take care.

    Hi Shane,

I am no expert, and am still learning what works for me, but from what I’ve read here there seem to be 3 results:
    1-No change
    2-Hair loss strongly reduced
3-Hair loss strongly reduced accompanied by new growth

I experienced #3, and perhaps people who do have a shed. I could accept that, but when it didn’t rebound fully soon I grew disappointed, so I reintroduced Proscar into my regime. Perhaps it’s presence was why I had new growth(?). But I’m starting to think the bigger the swing, the more likely a shed, but that’s just my own opinion.

I have never had their topical formula, but Rogaine has an eye dropper which you use to drop it onto your scalp with the hair seperated. If you don’t need dramatic results you can start with it. It evaporates quickly so it disappears in 5 minutes.

But understand that what works one way for one person may (or usually does) work different for another. You just have to start with one and see what happens. I think some people have used Provillus without any negative swings.

    Hope that helps!

From the moment i noticed it i quickly started spiraling into a horrible routine of constantly checking my hair no matter where i am. When anyone ever points it out to me i swear i die a little inside. I would love for someone to say to me that there is a pill you can take every day at a constant price that would even just keep your hair. I am not even that bothered about growing it back, but dont get me wrong that would be a good extra. At the very least i would be happy with just keeping my hair untill i was 25. At the moment i have a £105 in my bank account which is enough for a 6 month supply of provillus. So this means i seriously need to know if it works or not as money is hard to come by at my age. Any light that anyone can shed on the subject such as does it stop or slow down hair fall. I would prefer first hand material so i can add up who it has not worked for a who it has worked for.

I wish I had found this site sooner.

I’m a 25 year old male. I’ve tried Provillus, for about 5 months now, and haven’t noticed any difference. However, I can’t say that I’ve really gotten to try it because they never sent me the topical solution.

I wrote to them a while back asking them about it and they never replied. They didn’t reply until I wrote to them again asking “Do you ship the topical solution to Canada? BECAUSE I WANT TO ORDER AGAIN.” Magic words right there, I got a reply the next day telling me that they do ship to Canada and that the reason I didn’t get it the first time around was because they were out of stock, but this time I’d get the solution.

So I ordered it again against my better judgement because I actually do want to try the COMPLETE product so that I can tell people if it actually works or not. I figured, if it works then great, I got my hair back. And if it doesn’t then at least I can let people know so they don’t waste their money.

But I get my order, and AGAIN there’s no topical solution. And now I’m pretty annoyed because this isn’t a case of “I heard on this site that they do ship to Canada and I heard on this site that they don’t.” They specifically told me that they do. I wrote back to them again a couple of days ago, asking them what the deal is, and once again they have yet to reply.

So unfortunately, I can’t honestly comment on the quality of their product, but at least I can tell you guys that the quality of their service is CRAP!

I’d send it back for a refund, but I’m still paying them a “restocking fee” for every bottle I ordered, so in the end they make money while I’ve paid them $30 for a headache, plus shipping and handling. So in the end, I may end up keeping the bottles and looking for somewhere that sells the topical solution on its own, because I still do want to review the product.

George, I feel your frustration. But the real reason they can’t send the topical is because it has 5% minox which in Canada needs a prescription, so it could be stopped at the border. If you look into Rogaine(5%) on Ebay, sellers there issue the same warnings.

I would just get Rogaine here, though it would be interesting to try theirs.

(Too everyone) Does Provillus actually work if you only have the pills and not the topical solution. The key ingredient in the topical solution is Minoxidil. Minoxidil is also in Rogaine which i have heard does not combat hair loss very well. So what i want to know is when the topical solution is used in combination with the pills does it start to become more effective. Or are you just highering your chances by using too products at once meaning there is a high chance that one will atleast do something. Hi guys. Just noticed this blog and very interesting.
I have just started using Provillus just on a month ago.
But I started years ago using the Images (Neways) 2nd Chance Shampoo and Conditioner (about 20 years ago) and it did slow things down but never grew my hair back. Now I’m in my 50’s and it still brasses me off to lose hair!
However, about 6 years ago, I decided I have got to try minoxidil and I did and got some initial results. Messy stuff so after applying it, I run a hot wet comb through my hair to remove the minoxidil solution from my hair (not too much water on comb though).
But later on, I started the Nurtifolica topical treatment. It seemed to be working but eventually, my hair kept going down. Then I though, Ah..lets try them both. One night minoxidil (I use the Headways brand 5%) and next night the Nutrifolica (this has saw paletto etc in it too). Anyways, after some time, I actually see some small hairs growing back on a bald patch on the back of my head. Over the months, these got bigger and thicker and there are quite a few there now. Tell you what, I got quite excited.
Then I thought, I’d try the 1,2,3 treatment. Minoxidl, Nurifolica and Provillus (just the the supplement pills). Well, it’s been about a month now and I have taken some photo’s from about 2 years ago and just recent. There is certainly some encouragement there and I will be monitoring progress closely. What has really got me excited (my wife is still a bit disbelieving after trying all these years!), is that there are now dozens and dozens of small hairs at the front of my head. I have heard that this is the hardest so watch this space! I will let you know the progress, good or bad.
    Regards, Kev

EdMan, I am still using the Neways 2nd Chance Shampoo after all these years. As long as you don\’t use a shampoo with Sodium Laurel Sulphate or similar (2nd chance and other quality shampoo\’s use Amonium Laurel Sulphate) that will help. But I hear there are some other really good hair loss shampoo\’s out there but I have not tried them. I have learn\’t quite a few things over these years though.

And yes, I believe my baldness is due to the heriditary DHT issue. My grandfather (on my mothers side) was bald as a teenager! Didn\’t really start losing hair until I was around 30.

    Hey guys,

I can’t believe I read from the beginning all the way to the end. Anyway, here’s my 2 cents. I have tried Rogaine even before it was OTC and it never quite worked. It just gave me reddish scalp.

After a lot of sheddings in the shower, I started to realize that perhaps my scalp is allergic to strong shampoo. So for awhile, I started to use Baby shampoo… Yes, baby shampoo!!!

That reduces the shedding, but I wanted more. Then one day, my folks called to tell me that they heard good things about “Mane&Hair”. It’s funny because it’s a shampoo for Horse!!!

Reluctantly, I purchased the shampoo and the conditioner and have been using it till now. The shedding has almost stopped or very little. This is good news for me because now, I can start looking for something that will provide hair growth on my soon-to-be-bald spot.

Try it, if you guys would like to stop the shedding. I purchased them at Walgreen and/or Walmart. Buy 1 and get free is usually at Walgreen.

Don’t worry, I don’t work for this company… I even laughed when it’s labelled for both Human and Horse.

this is my 4th month on provillus. i must say, i am not impressed. the hair fall rate is about the same but i see new growth around my temples — nothing that makes a cosmetic difference as of now though. and it did nothing to my crown area which continues to thin out.

the new growth is interesting enough for me to stick with it for 2 more months. i’ll keep you guys posted…

Hey um Solomnf. You should get your blood checked. I’m 21 and went to the doctor to find out why I was loosing my hair and the first thing the doctor ordered was a blood test. Their are many reasons for hairloss and yeah cancer and tumors are amoung them. But the chances of it being so are very slim. But better safe then sorry.
Provillus~I have used it for 6 months more and almost $300 later nothing! You get a some hair regrowth in the begginning but after it get’s 1cm long it falls out. Talk about fun! I am going to try ‘Revivogen Scalp Therapy’. Best of luck to all. Sucks eh!

O_o Yikes! anyway last night looking at the mirror I took a look at my wet hair, as I usual I tried to comb it with my bare hand… AND thats when it all Happened! I took a quick glance at my hand only to find, mmmm 15-30 fallen courpses from my scalp, thats when I decided the only thing to do was to dress in black and honor the poor and innocent souls that gave their lives away for the new generation of hair that would soon “hopefully” appear, a whole new brave and bold generation “hopefully again”… So for now R.I.P and may the Man above have mercy in the poor little restless hairs that go down the drain everyday and everywhere… Amen -_-

I am a chemist. The answer to your question is very, very simple. If it isn’t FDA endorsed then it is undoubtedly a scam. Notice most of the late night commercials for everything from hair growth to “the product that can make a man larger”? In tiny letters you will see the words “Not FDA endorsed” – in other words they have no clinical trials, no evidence, no proof and in most cases are not created by chemists or doctors. The only FDA endorsed product is Rogaine which has approximately a 20% success rate. To date, there is nothing else which works. Some of the people who confidently believe that herbs etc are working are not suffering from male pattern baldness but are suffering from “nervous” or diet related baldness which usually rectifies itself anyway. The sad truth is that despite a number of ongoing research projects (because let’s be frank the company that creates the cure to baldness will be laughing all the way to the bank!) we are still nowhere near in a position to “cure” a genetically coded attribute anymore than we can “cure” having blue eyes. Here’s the official FDA article

Well, my system of combining those 2 and now 3 treatments IS working! And I have been working at this for many years!

Now, what shocked me the other day was that another bloke at work made a comment about me using “hair restorer”. That shocked me because I had told NONE of these blokes…as you do… Anyways he has kept looking at the back of my head, sometimes it has been down right embarassing! Heck, now that tell’s me something! And I know, because I check the progress daily :-)

It’s working for me (Headway 5% minoxidil one day, Nurofolica the next – both topical and taking the Provillus pills twice a day) and I am delighted. I share this because this combo may help others. I did try minoxidil by itself…Nah…then Nutrifolica by itself….Nah and earlier the 2nd Chance treatment….Nah. The combo as mentioned – YES! Hope this helps some one

Dave, I have to say that much of the information you have posted on this site has been very informative, and I have a few questions I hope you could assist me with. First of all, I am in the process of ordering Provillus (could hurt to try it). I am 29 and have started to notice that my hair is thinning out on top. Before it starts to seriously worsen, I am thinking of trying Provillus to see if produces positive results. Aside from ordering Provillus (both the pills and the topical solution), what should I use as daily, regular shampoo? I read that Nizoral Shampoo would be good, but you cant use that every single day, right? From your experience, what would you suggest? Any advice on this would be incredibly helpful. Thanks for your time, and I agree with some earlier postings stating that we should use this blog to help one another out as opposed to bash each other. There is nothing, up to now, that would lead me to think that you work for or get compensated by any of these companies, and I thank you for helping out “the cause” despite what appears to be very negative feedback. Thanks for your time.

Dave, I am sorry if I am asking too many questions, but I thought of some follow-ups: (1) the New Generation Shampoo — can you only purchase that online? (2) What do you think of the Nizoral/Nioxin combination? (3) The Provillus (both pills and topical solution) along with some “helpful” shampoo should be a good start, don’t you think? Am I forgetting something/anything? And, yes, I know your not an expert but your experience (unlike mine) has got to count for lots, no? Anyway, I think these should be enough FOR NOW, and I am sorry if I am getting nit-picky. Thanks, yet again!

When you first started taking Provillus did you notice increased hair lost during the first two or so weeks? And also since you seem very education about the product would you suggest this product would work for someone who has hair that is plentiful on the sides but a lil less on the top with a receding hair line?

    Thank you for your time.

    Hi Nick!

When I started using Provillus I stopped using Proscar, but still had it in my system I guess, ’cause I had strong regrowth right away, that petered out after a month or two. My fallout was minimal at first and then increased.

I’ve never had a bald spot, so the regrowth I’m talking about is in literally all the other areas. Temples, hairline, and top. What amazes me is how Proscar was good for my top left, but weak on my top right, but Provillus is the opposite, so the two together is great, plus the sides of my head have never been fuller, which I definately attribute to Provillus. But again, I’m getting these results by adding Proscar. But Provillus and Hair Muck may be great as well.

    Hope that helps!

i have some interesting updates. first off, provillus does have sexual side effects. i experienced a drop in libido and my morning wood definitely not of the same intensity. all this started in the 5th month.

i reduced dosage to 1 pill a day and the side effects are slowly wearing off. i also started applepoly topical this month and the combo is working well. even with reduced dosage, this combo is actually making a cosmetic impact. i dunno how long this growth patch will last. but so far it looks promising. btw, i am also using revita (1% keto) and grigko biloa extract.

has anybody else here tried applepoly topical with provillus?

No problem EdRam, we’re all here to help each other.

I don’t think the side effects are very common. My sexdrive rebounded once I got on it and off of Proscar, and has been fine ever since. I think some people even report an improvement.

And I would use the New Generation shampoo twice in the morning. They say it doesn’t lather and that’s OK, but I’ve found the second wash it does, and that’s what I associate with clean. But if you find your scalp dry, use a Dandruff shampoo first and then the New Generation.

I forgot to mention earlier, when you order the Provillus, CONFIRM they will be sending you the topical (which includes minoxidol). If they don’t, get some off ebay or whatever. Mix the Hair Muck ($40 a year….beat that!) in there and use it in the morning after the hair is dry. I give it a few minutes to settle in, then style it using my hairdryer. If you find this isn’t enough, you can always go to 2 times a day with the topical.

    Good luck!

No EdRam, you mix it in the bottle of Minoxidol so it’s not “another step”. He sends enough for a year, plus a measuring cup. You mix one ounce into a bottle of Minoxidol, shake, and use. The rest goes into the fridge till you start a new bottle.

WOW, just read all the posts, some interesting stuff and similar to all people I am now more confused then ever. I am 30 years old and noticed some thinning on the front and top of my head. Nothing too noticeable despite the odd comment, is your hair thinning etc etc? Anyway, copped two of those comments in a weekend and off I went!! So, did all my research and eventually decided that Provillus would be the way to go … all natural, herbal etc etc. Whats the harm in trying it, its not overly expensiven either.
So, I received the pills on time and have been using it for just over a month. Purhcased a two month supply so have one bottle to go. Anyway, in terms of results so far … hmmm, none …. if anything my hair loss has continued, its now coming out at the roots … my forhead is oily too, and my scalp is itchy but bearable. So, I dont knwo what to do???? Last night I promised I would just move on and forget about Provillus, now I’m thinking, give it one more month …. eeeek, what to do!!!
In terms of all the other stuff that is FDA approved … it just seems a little hardcore for my liking ….then again, its probably the only stuff that works.

I think if you use at least a topical minoxidil along with the Provillus, you will see some results. Don’t just use the Provillus by itself although some will see results. I have just about finished 3 months on the Provillus PLUS topical minoxidil and then saw palmetto etc (nutrofollica)every alternate night. I am definitely getting regrowth on the back and front.
One thing you have to remember if you want your hair to grow back is to be patient. I’ve been going for years and it’s only now that I have found some treatments that work for me.

I take regularly multi-vitamin supplements etc. and one thing that does seem to strengthen my hair is black strap mollasses. Yep, no kidding. The Truth About Jai Bains Restoration Hair:

Greetings my name is Ed, you probably seen some of my posts, I was once a user of this Hair system, Let me start off with prices… mm like 50-80 a month depending on what you need because JB Restoration Hair is like a subcription and ships you the products montly, This was my fisrt try at battling baldness, the system includes an ayurvedric based serum, pills and shampoo combo, I was on this regime like 4 months, I am a victim of inherited baldness :( , the serum is very oily and must be applied at night when you go to sleep, the shampoo is quite good but only good not perfect, anyway after the 4 months I did NOT see and hair grow!!! however in my 4th month i’ve noticed a bit more stronger hair using it along with provillus and Spectral Dnc (minoxidil 5%) Therefore, my conclution is that I really dont recomend it if you are suffering from inherited baldness or DHT, however if you are suffering from baldness due to other factors, then this product is for YOu! One issue with this system is that JB hair restoration claims all your money back, and some users claim that that’s a lie, however my response to them is… READ THE TERMS AND CONDITION yes the little letters at the bottom, dont be ignorant, all products come from companies! and what companies want least are losses!!

Currently im only using Spectral DNC and some common hair nutrition pills, 2 months now, the rate of falling hair in my frontal head has decrease but now I am having troble with my crown area… I will give Proscar/Provillus combo a try…
    Thank you

hi, i’m a 27 year old male. I noticed over the past year i’ve been thinning at the front of my hair line (sry don’t know the technical term for that). It’s to the point i’m concerned since no one in my direct blood line has any baldness (dad, grandpa’s uncles – all full thick hair). I’m not sure if this is do to stress or maybe i’m just unlucky and dht is not on my side.

Anyways i currently use nisim and have been for about half a year. I haven’t noticed any really hair loss since, and it seems to be a bit thicker from before. However, i noticed all the tiny thinned hairs really aren’t doing much. I was very interested in Provillus due to alot of the reviews i read..and it was listed as the #1 customer reviewed product on naturalhairlosstreatment.com.

After reading the many responses here (and i read a good portion) the reviews really seem mixed. Though i’m sure that’s natural, i’m not sure at this point what to do. Any suggestions? While i’m happy that Nisim has helped thicken up my hair, i’d really like to grow the remaining thin hair back to it’s original state. What are your guys suggestions? Thanks for your help!!

I don’t think Dave is a scammer. If he is like me, he is just delighted to have a treatment/combination that works for him and want’s to share it with others. If that is the motivation and from what I have seen and experienced myself, then great. Take his advice seriously. And use what works for you. I’ve been trying for years and for me, one treatment alone does NOT work. And I’m seeing more and more little hairs coming through with what I am doing…and the early ones are growing into bigger ones :)
And that’s a fact. But up to you. Doesnt’ cost much to try these days and especially if you are 18, don’t much around.
And don’t, DON’T use shampoo’s that have sodium laurel/laureth suplphte in them! Those harsh shampoo’s will wreck havoc on your hair. Use a decent shampoo which use’s an Amonium laurel sulphate base. Then do all the rest.
But hair transplants is another matter. And they are very expensive.

for those of you who are on provillus and are not experiencing side effects, my advice would be to stick with it. i saw the best results starting from the 5th month.
i saw sustained results even with 1 pill a day. so for ppl who are afraid they may experience sides, my advice would be to start with 1 pill a day.

If provillus really works, if provillus is a proven hairloss remedy, then obviously they won’t be advertising it all over the news, You know how many companies would lose money? Do you ever think about that? People that batt up the product are just failures, it doesn’t take a doctor to figure out that everyone that batts up the product no wonder your losing hair depression and hate. So all you can do is talk shit about a product you never used. Now in my opinion the reason some people haven’t seen results is because a lot of them waited way to long to stop their hairloss. So it’s really hard for the scalp to revive hair that has been used to losing hair for 20 years?!!!!!!?!?!?!?! REVERSING HAIRLOSS AFTER 20 YEARS??!?!?
    THINK ABOUT IT.
However, the people that really want to know if provillus is going to work is… RESEARCH the product, learn a few things about hairloss. I know my stuff, just dont want to explain it here. But i know my hair is thinning from damage as well as DHT which blocks all the excellent nutrients that your hair needs to survive.Think of it like this, if you didn’t eat, if starved yourself, how long would it take for you to die? YOUR HAIR IS STARVING PEOPLE. block the dht. Give it the most powerful nutrients which provillus has all in one& wait for your hair cycle to adapt. Don’t be a fool and not try the product. I WANT TO SEE WHO IS GONA SAY I WORK FOR THIS COMPANY BECAUSE IT WILL JUST MAKE ME LAUGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

I have been taken the pills once in the morning when I wake up and once at night. To get even faster results I open up the pill and put it in my mouth and attacks it right away rather than waiting for the capsule to break down. It says twice a day once in the morning and once at night. That is what I do with good success. The earlier you stop hairloss the easier it is to regrow your hair back. Listen to Sam he is right. Another reason why they don’t advertise on tv is that it might not work for everyone. It works for the majority, but not all.

Thanks Justin, and your right, it doesn’t work for everyone. People have other issues in their life, you may not realize it but if something really dramatic happens in your life, your body recognizes it as a stress factor. All the good chemicals turn bad, and it may not just be hair loss as the problem. It may be other problems in your body as well. Stress can also give you bad skin. Just be open-minded, but at the same time careful. Don’t be fooled by some products, learning why you lose hair is probably 95% of the battle. It may be that your just not happy with your overall physique or not happy with your life. All i know is even if i was born looking like shrek i would still love life. Be thankful

Hello everyone, i am a 28 year old female. i’ve been losing my hair since i was 24, but i’ve always had thin hair. I just purchased provillus yesterday. After i just saw this blog today in which i read most of the comments, I am now a little skeptical, but anyhow, I’m willing to give provillus a year but before I can really rate em.

Basically, I want to know for those of u who are currently still using provillus and believe that it’s working. Did you decrease usage from twice a day to once a day or every other day. From my assumption, I believe if u stop using it completely, u will lose all hair all over again, but will the decrease of using the product help.

Anyhow, I will keep u all posted upon my usage of this product.

In reply to kims question i read that if you stop taking the product you go back to losing again, so basically if it works you will be taking for the remainder of your life.
Good luck kim, how will you be taking yours, one in morning and evening or two straight away?

Rant done, I highly doubt any of these products will work. I have tried them all for at least a good 1 year on each products out there. Now its been 5 years since i started loosing my hair I have seen little to no results. I still have hair but it is def. continuing to fall. Save your money and get a transplant if you are so concerned with hair loss. I personally are finally done wasting my money away. Its really not worth it and the hair you do “regrow” are short, thin hair that will eventually fall off your head anyways.

Scam. This company has several redirector sites (baldingtony.com, hairlosshaven.com, etc.) which glowingly recommend Provillus.

One cause of hair loss is excessive use of shampoos which contain wax or waxlike substances. The wax accumulates in the hair shafts and blocks hair from growing out of the follicle. Eventually, the hair follicle dies.

Minoxidil cleans out the scalp so that hair follicles which are dormant but alive can regrow hair. That’s essentially all that it does, and it’s very expensive.

A clarifying shampoo bought from a hair salon (i.e. one with good quality ingredients and no waxlike substances) will do just about as much to repromote hair growth as Provillus, Rogaine, or other products which contail Minoxidil, and it will cost a lot less and won’t have the side effects that the hair-loss products do.

Try one bottle (they cost between $7-12) for a month. Shampoo your hair once a day. Apply once, scrubbing and massaging the entire scalp, wait a couple of minutes while you continue showering, then rinse and apply briefly again (to pick up what the first application missed). Salon shampoos are generally very concentrated, and you don’t usually need to use much of them.

Understand that nothing is going to cause hair to grow again from shafts in which the hair follicle is totally dead. What the shampoo (or Minoxidil, I suppose) will do is allow any dormant-alive follicles to start growing hair again, and help healthy hair grow better (possibly thicker). Give it a go for at least a month. You might be surprised at the results (I was) and it won’t hurt your pocketbook like Minoxidil products do.

I will tell you what to update my progress. I am 24 years old 25 next week and I have been using provillus for about a month and a half now. No doubt about it this stuff works. I can already see my bald patch filling in with the hairs getting longer and more hairs are growing. So keep in mind this product might not work for you but there might be something else that does just experiment. My hairloss had completely stopped and my mom noticed when she cut my hair yesterday that she could see new hairs growing in on the back of my scalp. My best bet is dont wait until you no longer have any hair. It is rather difficult to grow hair back when it is completely lost and the follicle is gone. Half of you people sit here and knock down the product when you havent even tried it yet. Some of those sites are probably just advertisement to promote teh product which is good. I think the trust Jonathan one is real if you look at the two pics they are completely different in a few ways but thats my opinion. If you look up what cause mpb tahn you will see its dht. The maker\’s of provillus came up with an excellent supplement that fights exactly what we are looking for dht and regrows hair. They actually took the time to study hair loss. I have typed in different things that had to do with provillus and different things come up about it. It is rated number one on almost every site on the internet.

So this question is directed at DAVE // Kev,

You guys seem to know what your talking about more then most of the people here. Looks like you both tried a lot of different things/combos so thought I would just clarify really quick what you think the best way to go is. So I am planning on getting the Provillus WITH the topical stuff that you apply to the balding areas. And I know you guys said mixing/adding to that seemed to show the biggest improvements for you. So I am also planning on getting the Nutrofolica as well like Kev was doing. And Kev you also were trying something else that you said was similar to rogain too.
So now my question is how do you go about applying all of those? Obviously you take the pills one in the morning and one at night. But what about all the topicals? Do you rotate them, or apply one in the morning one at night? Apply them all everyday? What would you recommend and does that sound like a good combination? Sorry about all the questions, you two just seem to be the most helpful/knowledgeable about everything.
    Appreciate it!! Cheers

    Hi JayB

Sorry I havn’t been here for a little while.

I hope it works out for you doing the combination treatments.
What I do is just a topical treatment just once a day and do the Nutrofolica one night, then minoxidil the other night. Refer to my posts 245, 270, 273 and 304.
In post 245 I refer to the minoxidil topical treatment and just to elaborate a little more, after I apply the minoxidil, I put a ‘hot wet’ comb through my hair (excessive water flicked off). I then rinse the comb in hot water in the basin (I have it pretty hot!), and then repeat quite a few times until most of the minoxidil residue in the existing hair has gone. Care being taken of course not to have water on the scalp as that will dilute the minoxidil.
This helps alleviate that terrible minoxidil greasy look on your hair the next day. Even then, by the next evening (by which time my scalp starts to get somewhat itchy) I’m really looking forwad to doing the Nutrofolica topical treatment because that is so good on the hair. I sometimes do a ‘hot wet comb’ on that but you don’t really need to. It’s so good for your hair with the natural ingredients.

But also, have a look at Dave’s posts and do what suits you. I just got my recent Provillus order and that will keep me going for yonks :-)
And that Nutrofolica, I found that it really lasts longer than what they say which works out very well cost wise.

Dave, I hope you carry on here as you have some tremendous advice, particularly for the extreme cases. You have far more experience than anyone else here so please don’t stop posting.

    Hello Dave,

I’m sorry you have been so abused on this forum, which I’ve just come across, for your opinions/advice on Provillus. I agree with you. Provillus works. It may not work for everybody but it worked for me. I’m female. I always had beautiful, thick glossy hair which I took for granted, so I did not get too alarmed when about fifteen years ago I noticed that my hair was falling at an abnormal rate. My hairdresser reasssured me by saying that I had so much hair that I would never go bald and I should not worry, etc., etc. etc. Eventually, I had to take notice as by then my hair was really thinning and thin instead of dense and thick as before. I tried Regaine, Ecophane, etc. without results. It was then, about three years ago, that I came across an article on Provillus and I immediately ordered a four months supply. The results were very promissing so I ordered another six months supply of capsules and 3 bottles of Provillus lotion. The results were amazing!!!. No more hair loss and new hair was growing all over my head. The new hair was also thicker and the overall difference was just unbelievable. Unfortunately, I discontinued the treatment for three months earlier this year while I was abroad and now I’m sad to say that my hair is getting thin again and I’m loosing quite a lot of it. So, I’ll be ordering Provillus again. It looks as if it I’ll have to take the capsules for the rest of my life! I shall be ordering another six months supply of Provillus. Unfortunately, Ultra Herbal has informed me that they are not allowed to send the lotion abroad because it contains Minoxidil. I cannot understand this prohibition because Minoxidil is freely available over the counter here in the UK.(Regaine and other brands are freely available without prescription).

To all those who are convinced that Provillus is a scam I can only say that from my own personal experience I know it worked for me in the past and I hope to see similar results with my next order.

Don’t knock it until you try. You may be pleasantly surprised. Nobody likes to be misled or to spend their hard earned cash in vain but… you can not be sure it wont work for you until you try it. So, if you have tried everything else on the market and had no joy what have you got to lose?

I have tried provillus right to the direction for four months. I followed the routine steadfastly. My hair isn’t any thinner, but it isn’t noticeably filling in either.

My greater concern was the fact that the bottles sent to me seemed to be “old” I guess is the best way to put it. The safety seals were not well sealed and the capsules had cracks in them, etc…

I compared the ingredients (and the costs) to a number of other items. I found that “One-a-day vitamins for Men’s Health” contains all of the ingredients that the provillus tablets have except for saw palmetto, and additionally contains other vitamins that I should be supplementing myself with anyway. Then there is rogaine in addition to that.

I found that buying the one-a-day men’s health, the saw palmetto (with a brand that is backed and a dated so that I can view it before purchase), and the rogaine from my local drug store (and can obtain savings coupons for each) that I not only saved a considerable amount of the expense (almost half) but I am also avoiding some of the questions on this website of “watered down” rogaine or “snake oil” tablets.

Buying the name brands at the local store eliminates if any question of that being the case, is less expensive, is backed by companies (and in the case of one-a-day) the FDA, and if provillus is right about the combination being effective…then I get the same ingredients to do the job.

Just a thought…of course you still have to stick to the routine if you are going to venture the gain. Just another option for those (like me) that would rather have the backing of names behind them rather than deal with what sounds like frustration for many.

Heres what works and no bullshit

I ordered 4 months of provillus used it for a solid 4 weeks and my hair was getting dramatically worse. Then I read that if you combine both Rogaine and provillus topical solution once a night before you go to sleep then rinse it out in the morning and do this for a month you will see dramatic results. I am only in 12th grade but i did loads of drugs and my hair started to recede and recede like crazy and some assholes at school kept saying i was balding(very embarrassing) anyways i lost all hope and decided to try rogaine and provillus once a night before i went to sleep and a month later when i looked in the mirror all my bald spots had filled and my receded hair was mostly covered up so i just wanna put it out there and i also took the provillus supplements 4 a day, 2 in morning and at night while taking saw palmetto from GNC. and using expensive shampoo while taking zero drugs. Also when you are on rogaine and provillus your hair may seem to start to fall out like crazy but really that hair was already going to fall out down the road and the provillus/rogaine is making it fall out to grow new healthy follicles. So dont freak out if your hair starts to really fall out for the first 2 weeks to month then it stops when you take like a week break from adding it to your hair. good luck it worked for me.

I’ve been using provillus(just the pills no topical solution of any kind)for just over a month. So far I don’t notice any hair re-growth but withing two weeks I already noticed that my hair is definitely stronger as it no longer falls out while brushing. I have less hair on brush after a month of using provillus than I used to get in a week prior to using it. Now mind you I’ve pretty much hit the peek of my baldness(it seems I have the hair genetics of my father to which my brother has the same which means we still have hair that is just thinned out a bit and our hair line which was high and a v in the first place receded a little more)I wish I had used it earlier to prevent the thinning that happened but my hair is still manageable and style able. I hope that I start to notice some hair re-growth though as I want my hair to be fuller as it once was because it will be tough to decide whether or not I want to order another 6 month supply if it’s only decreasing the hair fall out especially when it appears that I wont lose anymore hair anyways. Anyways it’s only been a month so we’ll see were I’m at in 3-4 months of usage and will keep you updated at that time.

That thickened my hair where it wasnt so brittle, but didnt stop the hair loss. I heard nothing but good about Provillus before, so i bought one months worth to see if it worked. Well ive been using it for 3 days now, and i think its making things worse. My hair seems to be thinning more and my scalp is tingling a bit. I think im losing more hair now from using it. Maybe this is a product that makes you lose hair, or its just my scalp adjusting to the pills and topical solution. I dont know…….but ill keep you up to date, bc if this keeps up im dropping it.

Everyone-what will be helpful is when telling their stories on whether the Provillus works or not is to also to state what stage of hair loss each of you are at….completely bald, bald except on the sides or just thinning. I seriously do not think if you are completely bald, anything will work but hair transplants. I have receding hair at the temples but I have a full head of hair. I have noticed that when I wash my hair, I definitely have more hair on my hands and it feels thinner. I’m 38 yrs old so this is natural. I am trying Provillus to seem if I can stop the hair from falling out more and not hoping or expecting for more regrowth and maybe the thickness people are claiming. I feel like I can afford the $200 for 6 months so I am going to try it and let everyone know. I think its important that everyone shouldn’t be so upset if it doesn’t work and say it is a scam, we are all different, different diets, blood types, etc and I do believe what will work for some won’t work for others. I do believe that those websites with stories can be the companies behind those sites/testimonials but again, if you can afford it, try it and find out for yourself. I received a Anti-dandruff shampoo first that I did read about online when researching Provillus and after one use, it does make you hair more fluffy instead of flat. I can’t say that may hair is thicker by using it yet but just started. So its a good shampoo for the texture of your hair I think anyways. I will not state the name of it because I’m sure some people might think I’m from the company promoting it or something. I am not planning on using the minoxidel liquid at this time just the pills. What I’ve read about it, is you get some peach fuzz and your hair may fall out at first, I’m afraid it may not come back so I’m not risking that. I’ll let everyone know how it works, I just started taking the pills.

This is no B.S. I am 41 years old (Asian). Started to lose hair in the early 30’s. Suffered from thinning hair, falling hair, lost 30% of my hair in front (hair line) and crown. Tried Saw Palmetto and Biotin. Did not work. After so many blogs and research, I decided to try 3 things at the same time. Procerin (tablets), Costco Monoxidol 5% (topical solution) and Nisim Shampoo. After 4 months into it, hair is significantly thicker, very minimal falling hair, crown is covered with hair again, and new hair is growing in front. My wife was very afraid I would lose my hair. Not anymore.

Just a follow up from the last one. I’ve been reading some of the articles here. So here is my take. You have to be patient. Its unlikely for it to happen in one month. Your bad hair is suppose to shed and be replaced with new ones. I experienced the same thing. But after month 2.5 to 3, hair started to fill in. Even the bald spots in front are growing new hair. Currently, I have to use a anti-Frizz to smoothen my hair and make it silky because its too thick sometimes. Its nuts but its true. And here is the best thing, my hair dresser was so amazed that she asked for the products I am using to tell her other clients. Remember, I use 3 things – Procerin Tablets, Monoxidol 5% topical solution and Nisim Shampoo. I am pretty excited about the next 6 months. Hope this helps.

(40 year old male) Ive been using minoxidil 2% & Nioxin shampoo / conditioner for 1.5 months and noticed peach fuzz hair along my hair line. Added provillus (1 month now)and I am noticing thick full strands starting to grow on various areas along my hair line. My hair did get thinner the first two weeks of Provillus and stopped. I guess I could be one of the lucky ones. Hopefuly I can get my full hair back by next year. My hair loss could be stress related and I’m not stressed anymore (broke up with girlfriend, ha ha}.

    Hi!

    I’m back!

I have 25 years and i’m from Romania.
I use the provillus pills, one in the morning and one when i go to sleep.
I use and Nizoral shampoo with some iron pills.
I wear all the time a hat on my head, because i started to loose my hair from the front.

Now i’m very happy, after almost ten days of provillus my hair is growing back on my entire head.I have a white-yellow hair and the bald area and in the rest my hair is very stronger .The only side effect i have seen is the growing of hair on the other sides of the body(hands, feets, etc.)and some head pain, but not so powerfull. But i am very, very happy with the effect for now,it’s just almost ten days and i reallt see the changins.

Without with this supplement my life is full of s…t.

I think it’s working for me.

Have a nice day and thank you God i found this.

Hello gents, and some ladies i guess.
I’m going to try and make this as short as possible. I’ve read 85% of these posts and decided to throw in my 2c.
First off, any of you who are younger-Id say below the age of 30 – especially early 20s and are starting to lose your hair- you will..continue to lose your hair no matter what you take. You just dont realize how many hair follicles there are. I had great full hair when I was younger-started losing at 18- I lost quite a bit every day- always in the bottom of the damn tub after a shower.. very depressing. It wasnt until I hit around 30 that It became noticeable..
I tried the helsinki treatment and then rogaine/then the generic minoxodil- I didnt find any regrowth and at that time it was way over priced.

I saved up my cash and went and got a transplant-when i was 34. I didn’t realize at the time that two transplants are needed for best results. Anyway- those transplants are tried and true- and the price has come down- so if you have 5k and arent UNhealthy or a drug user/alcoholic- that would be your best bet.
So it has been about 6 years now and before spending money on another transplant I decided to give provillus a try- because of the pill+topical rogaine.
Also I read that saw palmetto was good to keep the prostate from getting larger-
I personally had no bad effects on provillus/ yes the rogaine does leave a residue on your scalp. But I have been very surprised at seeing smaller fuzzy hair growing in-(This on the frontal top and sides!-something rogaine alone will not do-)I have been on the product for 3 months- i started seeing results in 2 months- the fuzzy hair seems to be getting thicker- if it all go’s away then im sol.. but im going to keep going.
just remember- if your really young- face it- you wont ever have a full head of hair again- but this stuff might help you keep enough not to look like a chump- some guys look good with a shaved head- I dont- I want hair. If I really wanted to spend another 5 k-Id go in for the second transplant today- its not that bad and its the thing that works
best. Provillus is doing what it says it does for me. itll never grow hair like you want -but its filling in the spaces between the transplant and making it look better- I am 40 yrs old.
And one more positive thing for us older dudes- I can urinate like a race horse now- shows me signs my prostate isnt as enlarged as before. I also have had no side effects in the bed room-
    good luck.

I am 28 and had the receeding sides and thinning on the top but since taking Provillus the thinning areas have started to fill out and one side of the receeding areas has fully retured while the other side is still catching up.

Hi! I can’t believe I actually read this whole comments section. Must have taken hours!

I’m 29, have thinning hair on the very top, and crown, but no full bald spots as yet. Luckily, I may not have any dead follicles yet. The thinning has been going on since about 25, but has seemed to escalate in tempo over the last year or two. Today I decided it was time to take action while my chances of success seem to be greatest.

I still don’t know what to think of this Provillus, but I think I’ll hold off just a bit. The doctor just gave me 40 free Proscar pills, so I’m going to try that. Also, I decided to toss out my Nioxin because it has Sodium Laureth Sulphate in it, as well as Propylene Glycol. Plus it didn’t seem to make a lot of difference. Maybe because I didn’t religiously use the full system…. I just got Avalon organic shampoo today. So I’ll try those two first, maybe throw in some provillus in the new year.

Does anyone have any words of wisdom about what I’m proposing or anything else? Dave? Kev? Anyone?

Thanks for all the posts folks, and good luck! I’ll post any results here I promise. I may also try and take pictures as I go along and post them somewhere.

After finding this site 6 months ago and reading the comments I decided not to go with Provillus for personal reasons. 52 yrs old and used to have very thick hair, then about 8 yrs ago thinning in the front a little bit and quite a bit in the crown.

For what it’s worth here’s what I’ve done: Like you guys, researched around and decided to go with a product called Hair Genesis. You take 2 pills a day. Has Biotin and Saw Palmetto to block DHT etc. Now 3 months into that. I don’t think I have any new growth yet, but haven’t lost anything either. Hair looks and feels more full and healthy like vitamins for the hair or something. Disclaimer on this product. For me it seemed to affect my sexual performance a little. Wasn’t expecting that. My boners weren’t quite as hard with my wife and my ejaculations sometimes have a slight delayed action, I have countered this by using Viagra for the first time.

    2. Understanding the power of our subconscious minds, I ordered a MP3 that i have on my ipod that plays a hair growth hypnosis audio. It’s done by a pioneer in that field, a guy named Konikov. The 2nd and 3rd parts of the audio have orchestra music interlayed with subliminal messages designed to spur more hair growth. Before you guys think this is hokus pokus, realize that there is a definite link between the mind and body. If you think about a Lemon right now, your tongue will salivate a little bit/ Most nights I listen to this audio and fall asleep to it. But that’s not a problem because the subconcious brain soaks up all the messages irregardless. Also on the hypnosis mode, a couple times a day I like to do affirmations to myself.”I have a full, healthy head of hair.” Our minds can create our own reality.

    3. My hot asian hairdresser suggested that I use a brush to massage my scalp everyday now that I’m taking the hair vitamins, so I’ve also incorporated that.

    4. And finally i only use laurel sulphite free shampoos.

With this regimen I hope to maintain what I have on my head. Anything gained I will consider a net plus, seeing that I’m not spending much money on that regimen. Good luck with your own regimens fellas.

    Hi

After 2 months of Provilus after 2 months of Procelin, I can’t say they work at all. I’m sure it has in many ways quickened up the process. I think the only way to ensure you get the best treatment is go to the pharmacy or seek some professional advice. It’s madness to me that something so common and relatively easy to prevent cannot be done effectively and safely in this day and age. I will use what I have paid for with Provilus but will not use it again.
    Best wishes to you all.

guys each treatment works seperately to each individuals . if you are completely bold you are not going to get good result from any treatment exept hair transplant. why you guys all of you don’t have logic and reason , if one treatment doesn’t work for one person it might work for others. please neglect all what have been said before and neglect all reviews, and read someone who has a flawless logic.who test and succeed

first if you get sick, depressed you will loose your hair. due to any trama you will regain it back by using any treatment whether it is good or no, but if you are completely bold or close to it you are not going to have result nor with provillus nor with laser hair comb nor with any treatment what soever, if you are completely bold or you are loosing hair immensly nothing is going to bring back your hair it might help a little and that is about it . i will say something but it might sound weird if u want to keep your hair or make it strong or rescusitate week follicule be careful not dead.
the only thing can reverse the male homrone and raise the female hormone which will help you if you really wants to keep your hair and it is the best method close to hair implant but not multiply it , because if you have a bold area that’s it it is dead only god can bring a hair in it or hair implant. if you want to keep your hair strong and rejuvenate all what you have lost .
first don’t use any shampoo whatsoever because every shampoo is brimmed with chemicals please trust me. use olive oil soap fragrance free don’t use gel it will suffocate your hair or any foam etc. if you are a male please don’t be embarassed take female hormone with very low dosage 1 mg or 0.5 so you won’t grow breast, very low dosage and take one pill of spiranolactone or any DHT BLOCKER I GUARANTEE YOU ANY CASE YOU HAVE OR ANY PERSON YOU ARE YOU WILL BE SATISFY AND you will thank me .that is the only way or you are wasting your time with products . you will SAY THANK YOU AFTER THAT AND PLEASE DON’T EAT TOO MUCH JUNK FOOD OR TOO MUCH MEAT STAY HEALTHY STAND ON YOUR HEAD exercise i meant SO THE BLOOD WILL GO DOWN AND UP IT WILL REJUVENATE YOUR BLOOD SYSTEM AND FOLLICULEs . AND I GUARANTEE YOU YOU HAIR WILL STOP FALLING AND BECOME THICKER AND MORE VOLUMINOUS AND EVERYTHING YOU LOST IT WILL COME BACK . TRUST me completely . but if you are bold now it is too late sorry but if you are in the process of loosing your hair act immediately even though your sex drive will decrease a little it is ok . don’t forget no one should live for their private part . get your hair back and don’t waste money on laser hair comb or products is like hitting the jackpot

I was suspected that “Balding Tony” might be a shill. I tried the product anyway – $150 for 6 months seemed like a modest trial cost. Five months later… No side effects. The daily routine, topical solution plus vitamins, is pretty simple. The topical solution is not gooey, and the smell is very minor and not objectionable. For me, the results have also been very minor. My hair loss in the shower has been reduced to practically none. My thinning hair seems a little thicker and I have to get a haircut a little more often. No new growth on the hairline (none promised) and little or no new growth on the crown. I suspect that in my case the zinc and magnesium in the vitamins may have improved the health of my hair and stopped the hair loss, but probably not reversed the balding. I plan to look at the drug store for cheaper alternatives. If the hair loss returns, I’ll be back to Provillus. My opinion: If you want to try something cheap, Provillus might work for you. Don’t expect too much and you won’t be disappointed.

    Hey all,

Have any of you heard of Micron laboratories?

I went in for a free consultation and they said that I have a scalp condition where I am unable to naturally exfoliate my dead skin cells on the top of my scalp. This layer builds up over time causing my follicles to become plugged. When the follicle plugs up, it becomes inflammed and bacteria proliferate. Along with DHT, this causes the follicle to minaturize, weaken, the hair and fall out. Their treatment plan is to use a topical solution to dissolve the dead skin, inhibit DHT, open up the follicles, and clean out the excess oil and bacteria promoting an environment where the hair can thicken and thrive.

What do you think about this?

I have been trying Provillus for nearly 3 months now and have not noticed any regrowth whatsoever as yet. I started using Regaine about a 6 months ago as i started noticing my hair was getting less and less thick on top and began to get worried. Using Regaine for about 2 months didn’t do anything, as hair fell out, i don’t know if that is because it was going to fall out anyway or not, but i stopped using Regaine after 2 months as I didn’t want to lose any more hair just in case it was that what was causing the continued falling.
I then went onto provillus and have been using that for 3 months now, i haven’t noticed any loss or gain up to now, don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing to be honest….
I’ve got a decent amount of hair on my head still, no obvious bald spots but when my hair is wet you can see through to my scalp on the top of my head and my crown which i have significantly noticed in the past few months, i’ve always had really thick hair on top until recently. It’s really weak to see.

It’s been like 6 years since I’ve looked at all this and still there haven’t been any success stories for everyone to latch onto.

I know there was an admin or someone over at regrowth.com right? Who posted his success, correct? Is he still growing hair like a maniac? Or that guy that wrote the health book, Gary Null — he described regrowing his hair using veggie powder in veggie drinks.

Maybe the ones who find out a ‘cure’ just run off and enjoy life and so this pot is always the same mix of people. I wish people would leave a bread crumb trail or something for the rest of us to follow.

Someone provide some of the BEST links they’ve found. And Kudos to this blog for having an ‘open comment’ policy.

I’m so mad that I found this website 40 minutes after I finished ordering this crap… Lot of people wrote how much of a scamming company provillus is , but since i already ordered i wanted to be optimistic about it and try it once i get it. …. So today, I received Provillus. Guys, please. DONT ORDER PROVILLUS. If you go to their website, it clearly says 2 months supply for free with the purchase of 4 MONTH supply. Therefore, should receive 6 months supply. So i called them right away and told them i didnt receive the extra 2 months supply. This is what the guy told me… “you have to buy 6 months supply then you’ll get the 2 months supply for the price of 4month… ” Then i told him “on your website it clearly says 2months supply with the purchase of 4 months, not 6 months…” then he started stuttering… -_- are you kidding me? Then i thought to myself, how can i trust this product if those people can’t even hold responsible for what they write on their site… So now i’m just scared to return it, because I’m afraid they wont give me the money back since lot of people seemed to have problems with it. (from previous comments.. I read all of them)
By the way, if you’re having a frontal baldness like me, don’t get it. On the box, it says not intended for frontal baldness or a receding hairline. Only for vertex balding. Guys, I don’t know what to do, because if i do try it, after 4 months, I dont want to get any more product from this scamming company, and I think if i stop after 4months, my hairs going to all fall out…

    Wow interesting posts on Provillus

I personally own a website promoting such products and its interesting to see people bashing them. But what I do know is that everything I promote I have tried, the same company that sells provillus sells male enhancement products which there are ones that I have also tried and some I have not had the desired results, But then again Viagra, Rogaine etc also have different results for different chemistries everyone is different.

When I was younger in my twenties my dad bought me rogaine and as with provillus as long as I continued to use it it worked jus
    it as provillus does.

The way i look at things is I am always willing to try something new and eventually I will find something that does work, what i have spent on herbal products will not compare otherwise to what I would have spent say on hair transplants or other surgical procedures.

So being neutral, as with everything else different people will have different results, stuff that has not worked for me I have given to my friends or relatives only to find out they continue to purchase because of the positive results they have had from X product.

As far as a refund, well when I buy online , if its less than 200 bucks I am willing to cut my loss upfront and take the risk and no I am far from being wealthy.

    Cheers!

Gerry I know you are undecided, and yes what a banter but Provillus sells a one month supply for like 40 dollars, do what I did try it for a month and then you will know for yourself that it is not a scam its kind of funny that the people complaining about spending 200 bucks on the product are complaining about refunds, provillus is no different than say weight loss products or anything else I sure the hell am not going to fork out a ton of cash on something I have not tried and never had always try a minimum before you comit to something that may or may not work.

SCAM doesn’t even begin to describe what Provillus is. They are an offshore company that “knocks off” other legitimate products (some would say counterfeit) and pass them off as their own. They rebill credit cards without your permission, and steal study data, testimonials, and even their ingredient lists from other companies. They use multiple different company names to try to hide their scams (Ultra Herbal, Provillus, Market Health, Provillus for Men, etc) and sell alot of other pill products, most of which are a scam. Don’t fall for the Provillus scam, find a legitimate hair loss approach that doesn’t rely on a company with shady business practices.

Just wondering who you are dealing with here? What website(s)? Do you have any proof as these are pretty serious claims?
As for me, I have been using the product for about a year and there’s no doubt about it, I am getting some re-growth (using minoxidil and nutrifolica topical product as well). And I am in my 50’s so that’s not too bad I would say.
I havn’t seen my credit card billed extra either in my dealings so far either.

Can people please take photos and post them with their results. Every site I see where people swear by this product lack photos. They have ONE before and ONE after picture, which are usually too small/dark/out of focus to see the actual results. Come on people, it’s the digital times, it’s not hard to take a picture every week/month of your hair.

One thing I find suspicious is “why” if Provillus actually works do they have such a scam return policy. If you read their “guarantee claim” carefully you will see they say that they only accept returns on “unopened bottles” and even then they charge you a “fee” of $10 per bottle for each unopened bottle returned. If the product “really worked” why not have a real guarantee? My hair stylist sold me a new product from Bumble and Bumble and Estee Lauder, (two respectable companies) They have a line of products called Bb Treatment Density Therapy. It will “not” grow hair, but it claims to “stop” hair loss. It “is” expensive, about $110 for the 3 bottles which are 1-cleanser 2-conditioning cream 3-complex. I don’t know whether it will work or not but i’m going to try. You can also go onto ebay and find it for cheaper than they sell it for in salons. I am thinking about trying provillus, but am worried about whether or not I will be able to keep up the twice daily application. My hair however is “not” balding. it is simply very fine and thin but I still have a complete full head of hair.

hi guys, glad i stumbled on this site, thought about getting a provillus & zulvera, at the moment i’m using this product called “Ultimate hair growing tonic” which i bought in manila philippines which is exclusive only from Watsons (a big drug store/chemist/pharmacy) i started using it back in august last year by applying twice a day everyday, and by december my dad-in-law who came for a visit noticed about my hair looking healthier and thicker and the bald spot somehow obscured and some significant hair growth. By Jan my supply ran out so i stopped using it, then a few months later i noticed that i’m shedding hair again so i ordered a few bottles again and got them last month. been using it for 3 weeks now but im getting tired of doing this everyday so im looking for a pill alternative that’s why im thinking of getting provillus, it might work for me.

btw the one im using has the ff ingredients:
biotin, keratin, vit a,e,f,h,b3,b6, thymus extract, calcium panthothenate, aloe vera, henna, avocado, coconut milk, nettle extract, wheat protein

A product available to purchase at a hair salon works very well. It is called Nioxin. I had alapecia a few years back and my stylist recomended the product. I quickly noticed results and it is now fully grown in. I will mention that you have to use the shampoo treatments faithfully (ie: dont use it one day and use your regular shampoo the next). It has not only made my bald spots fill in, it has made my hair thicker.

Sebastian I know exactly how you feel mate and I have had recurring dreams loosing my teeth which is related to appearance worries and hair loss. I know it is no consellation mate but I have read tons about all manner of products and visited loads of sites that contradict each other. It would appear to me that only finesteride (proscar, Fincar etc) as prescribed by doctors and minoxidil (rogaine / regaine)are the chosen treatments for male pattern hair loss. Provillus seems to have people talking and debating and seems to work for some as a DHT blocker but as yet I cant comment on any of them until I see signs of improvement. I am using those I mention now and will keep everyone posted. But bottom line is try what you like mate but the top 3 remedies other than just living with it or chosing surgery are your only real options for now.

But best try something than nothing in my opinion as at least you would have tried early on..They say leaving too late is not a good move.

My boyfriend is 34 and has been using Provillus for 4 months. He was thinning at the sides and crown. Two pills a day morning and night and 5% minoxidil solution twice a day. It was slow and hairs did fall out to begin with but they tell you this in the instructions so I dont know why people are surprised by this. They also tell you that it can take a minimum of 6 months so people who claim to have had no results after a month or so is hardly surprising. His sex-drive has not been affected. His scalp is now covered in vellous hairs (stronger peach fuzz) which I hope will become darker as he is brown elsewhere so from a distance he still looks quite bald on top. Could anyone tell me if the hairs can become darker or if they remain blonde. I have suggested dyeing the hairs but he isnt having any of it.

Hello, I’ll share my experience with you..

I am 40 yrs old. I first started to notice balding on my crown area after viewing HD video of my swordplay with kids. I could see balding on back of my head on top. So I took picture directly on top of my hair and was shocked how much hair I lost in short time. The hair loss seems to accelerate pretty fast at age of 39 (last year). My motto as an engineer is: “If I see a problem, I fix it”. So I had to fix this hairloss problem and did lot of researches last Spring and came up with best approach I could find: Provillus.. One of the researches also stated that best candidate for optimal result on hair recovery is guys WHO are just starting to lose hair.. I was one of those guys so I was excited and ordered with hopes high because the scientific approach to heal those focilles were sound and lot of positive feedback from customers. I had nothing to lose. Basically, if I don’t try, I am guaranteed to lose more hair.. If I try, I have chance to save my hair AND chance to recover some or all hair back.

First two months, I didn’t notice much but I remembered that first 2 months normally lose hair more OR no change or minor hair recovery. To me, first month, no further hair loss (whew) then 2nd month, I was excited that I could see little thicker hair on my top.. But I’m now on 4th month.. The result is MUCH more noticable right after 3rd month.. I nolonger could see balding on my crown and top of scalp.. It’s just gone.. I also am not used to feel thicker hair on the top.. I felt like young guy again. :) By the way, I started working out at age of 39 and now am well-built guy. I suspect that working out might help to accelerate the hair recovery process on my scalp due to better blood circulation and better food diet?? By the way, my sex life is still as great as before (Well, it got improved simply because of work-out and better health overall). I don’t notice ANY side effect of Provillus on me.. I definitely would use Provillus for life as long as it still works for me.

My friend who is 48 years old and have much serious balding problem. He doesn’t work out at all.. He ordered Provillus because I am trying it out too so we both tried about same time. On 4th month, I could see some more hair on his top and his crown bald gap is slowly closing but still lot to go. His result is slower than mine. I suspect is that because he had bald crown too long so focilles were dead for long time so it might take longer time to revive and recover them or they just stay dead for good. Dying focilles are easier to heal than dead ones. The analogy would be to try to water a dying plant compared to water dead plant.. I do expect him to recover maybe 30 to 40% because he probably could restore “dying” focilles category fully that started dying in past few years of his life. I have no idea about his dead focilles that stayed dead for almost a decade. Let’s hope that Provillus could revive his dead ones..

I’m very happy with Provillus! I had convinced several of my friends with their balding problems and they all are just trying it now.. They were so shocked to see me saying that my hair looked great and asked me how? So I explained to them about Provillus. Even one co-op student who was young and just starting to lose hair was shocked when I showed them my picture of my scalp before I started taking Provillus. He decided to try it before further damage would come to his scalp.

Bottomline.. Provillus works.. The result largely varies among guys.. People who are just starting to lose hair seems to enjoy the result the best.. It’s better to try than no try (guaranteed to lose hair).

By the way for those who use hair gel or mousee.. I used either hair styling gel and mousee (depends on the mood I feel like). I applied gel or mousee BEFORE I apply Provillus so far.. It didn’t counter the effect of Provillus so I’m happy. I now enjoy seeing better mousee style on my thicker hair. :) I asked question 4 months ago about styling gel/mousee when to apply or proper procedure on one of sites but no one replied at all.. Now, I had to experiment to see if it works.. Now I know.. It works just fine by applying gel/mousee while using Provillus.

Hi guys, I ordered my 6 month provillus supply back in late april and started using it around may 7 to the 10th. I was just starting to thin which is what it says its target customers are. Before taking provillus, my hairline had receded about 3/4 of an inch and it was getting really bad.. with general diffuse thinning all over the top(not really a specific bald spot). I’m so happy with the results I’ve got after only 3.5 months on it. My hairline has came down about a half inch and my temples are really starting to thicken up, as for the top/crown.. its thicker than its ever been.. Its seriously as thick as it was when I was 15 years old and I’m i’ve still got over 2 months left! its the best 217 bucks I’ve ever spent in my life.. you cant put a price on the confidence boost I’ve recieved from this product and I will most definitely be a customer for life! :D

Also, There are no sexual side effects or any other adverse reaction of any kind. I’ve seen alot of negative reviews but cant for the life of me understand why.. I guess maybe I’m one of a lucky few who got alot of regrowth back but I doubt that. You HAVE to take the pill twice a day and you have to apply the minoxidil twice daily, its really not a hard regimin to follow. I’ve also been taking biotin tablets along with the provillus pills because I noticed the pill only had 40mcg biotin which is only 13% daily value.. and I wanted like 1000%, that may or may not have affected my results.

What do you know about the ingredient in Nizoral (ketocanazole), any thoughts or comments….someone claimed it kills DHT…so it should be used a couple times per week, well that\’s what he said.

Also, any thoughts on Hair Muck? It was mentioned to mix it into the minioxidil…would that dilute the minoxidil? Or, like you mentioned, the 2% would be ok??

I am convinced that Provillus does not work. Here is my challenge to you. Whenever anyone makes a claim that it worked great for them, ask for “before and after pictures.” Don’t let them get away with their claim without giving you some credible pictures or point you to a reputable site that has many such pictures. Since this product has been around for some years now and should take only about 3 – 6 months to produce results, you better believe there would be tons of good before and after pictures online of people who are more than happy to show the world how well the product has worked for them. I can’t tell you how many sites I’ve seen of people talking about how they will take the challenge of testing out the product and reporting back their findings. Try finding before and after picture proof of any of those findings. I bet you you’ll be searching the internet for weeks trying to find a trace of it.

If this guy DAVE isn’t a cheerleader for Provillus in some way, they need to recruit him and give him there biggest pom poms, because he has single-handidly (well, then again seems like he might have a few tag-team buddies on here too) and with great endurance defended them without end. I was a little surprised how he kept talking about how he was here to tell everyone about how Provillus “worked for him.” But when asked in post #109 to post some before and after pictures, he then quickly switches to “But, this thread is not about me,” in his response in post #110. I say, until these Provillus advocates can provide a web-site with at least 10 to 20 people who are willing to show some before and after pictures and be interviewed by a reputable public source, just pack it up and go home. I think it’s just ridiculous in 2009 to have so many wed-sites promoting this product that has been around for years now, and you can’t find anywhere on the internet (including the “official” Provillus website) with verifiable before and after pictures of people who had this product “WORK FOR THEM.”

Yeah, all truly “honest” sites likely created by Provillus or one of their affiliates to shill their products. If this product really worked as claimed, it would practically sell itself. They wouldn’t need to fool people into buying it. And the worst part is, there are people out there getting fooled all the time because they really put some faith into “honest” and “trust” sites like those you listed.

These sites are loaded with affiliate links, meaning if you click the links and buy the products because of these “trusting” reviews, the author gets paid. Why let someone make money by lying to you?

hey. having been searching the web for about 6months now, iv noticed that for every good positive comment theres a negative comment on EVERY product, every time u get a bit of hope ur knocked back down.

anyway, i noticed hair loss about a year ago, ignored it for a while and then just grew my hair longer, started noticing alot of hair loss in shower about 6 months ago and decided to act, got the laser comb and didnt see results so about 2 months ago i started using procerin tablets and my hair loss seems to have decreased alot, so smething must be working. remember uv probably been losing your hair years before you notice any actual loss, so smething to hopefully reverse the affects will take a long time.

tho i dont think theres anything wrong or unatractive about hairloss, and the only time it becomes a problem is if it bothers u, my older brothers worse than me and doesnt seem to be bothered, maybe hes the lucky 1.

This forum is getting more and more interesting. For anyone reading this post, my advice is you have to keep in mind that when you do a search on the internet about a product, EVERYONE IS A CRITIC.

Everyone in here would also benefit if people leaving comments are the ones that have actually TRIED the product..this way you can make sure it is from a legitimate result. I just don’t see the reason why people are so negative about a product claiming it to be a scan for the sole reason that a lot of marketer’s are promoting it. It is better to comment on your own result from a product and then leave it at that.

And no, I am not a marketer. I am regular person who simply BOUGHT and TRIED provillus for 4 months now. It did work for me and my hair is regrowing like crazy. Now let me comment that this result does not happen to everyone. Everyone experiences different results. Type-in any product you can think of on Google and you will for sure get mix results (even Minoxidil)

I agree with the above post (#43) by Mike:
“I advise people to assume that everything they read on the web may not be completely true. (Including this blog!) Even be sceptical about what I am writing because you don’t know me. Everyone here may be lying, just how people that post on other sites may be lying.”

So yes the product DID work for me, I guess im one of the lucky ones :)

Again though, when you search the internet, read the information you find with caution. And then go with your consumer-gut feeling, you really never know if it does work or not until you tried it yourself.

If I can just get my hair to a point where I don’t get any new spots I would be happy! Then I will focus on the regrowth! So I got the Provillus shipment about a week after I ordered it. That other ‘discount card’ charge never happened thankfully.

I started using Provillus at the very beginning of 2010, literally new years day. It took a couple days to learn how to apply the dropper and not have most of it drip down to areas you don’t need it. But after that it was easy to do, twice a day, once in the morning once at night. Scheduling it many hours before a shower can be tricky at times (per the instructions that come with it), taking the two pills is no biggie. The instructions that come with it are straight forward by the way, no need for extra info.

So far there’s no results, or at least not significant enough to see a difference. There was maybe a little thinning at first, maybe. It’s only been 1 month so I didn’t expect much though. And I’m using it for frontal balding and receding hairline, which it says repeatedly it is not meant to treat (only crown balding). I’m just hoping it works anyway, how can hair growth be that different between the front and back?

Anyway, 1 month in, no results. Taking pictures too btw. Will update again in another month…

Kyle, I never got the topical so I’ve never seen those instructions, but applying it before a shower? That’s weird to me. Since it’s so much like Rogaine why not apply it after a shower, to a clean scalp, as per their instructions? Seems to me that way it will at least be on your scalp the entire day. Your diligence is commendable, but you might want to check that.

Hey Dave, yeah I wasn’t very clear with what I wrote. What I meant was that it’s sometimes tricky to find a time to apply it and then not shower for several hours after that. The instructions say to let it dry on your scalp for at least 4 hours before showering. Not a big issue but it has come up a few times…

You will not get your money back from provillus and your hair would have fallen off in lumpy big chunky chunks. That is exactly what happened to me and my mom. Our hair came off in lumps. My mom even had to do a medical check up to make sure there is no cancer of any kind. Well, the supposed cancer was Provillus. I am spending hundreds now to get our hair back to where is it was all in the name of hair maintenance and hair regrowth. Provillus is a big scam preying on peoples emotions. Do not buy or even think of Provillus, you will regret it. I am regreting ever using provillus right now.

So I’m a little over 3 months in to trying Provillus, and am still uncertain about the results. My hair looks great, I’m definitely happy with not losing any more of it lately. But I don’t know if I’ve grown any either – I grew it out longer so it’s hard to see if there’s a big difference from before (when it was significantly shorter). Sorry, wish I something more definitive to report, but it will have to wait until I can see some significant results. Don’t want to give credit to Provillus if it isn’t deserved…

Have been using provillus 6 months. Is it my imagination that my little hair growth is on the front and contrary to the instructions that comes with the bottle? The top vertex has shown no change except like post no.80 from 2 years ago, severe itching and acne on my scalp. Hard to believe I have 4 months supply left and I have put a stay on the use because of the bad itching. It has turned my vertex pink and my hair stylist said I have scabs in my scalp. I hope the itching stops and I can finish off the 4 months supply and quit if nothing changes. This is very upsetting that this happens with so many of the people who have wrote on this bloq. I wish I was here before i purchased.

things are getting worse. My scalp is full of scabs and I am bleeding. Scalp has become red. I started dabbing my scalp with alcohol to stop the itching and prevent any infection. Some hair is falling out as I scratch. I can not believe anyone would sell a product that can cause something like this to happen. I followed the instructions but can it be possible that II should have use it once a day instead of two times a day ? Or should i have never used this product in the first place? Any advice is very welcomed.

Andy, check out HairlossHelp.com and HairLossTalk.com. There are others there struggling with the same things from Rogaine topicals.

When Rogaine first came out it was a 2% solution. I think when it went to 5% stories such as yours became more common. You should research that site, but the Women’s Rogaine is still 2% and that’s what I use. You may want to try that since I think the Provillus is 5%.

I’ve been using this product for around 1.5 years now. I didn’t get any real results until around 1 year where I noticed the areas that were thinning out had darkened back up and filled in. As far as new growth, there has been a little bit but it’s slow going. I don’t have the topical and until a week ago I was taking 2 pills at once in the morning instead of 1 two times a day. Overall, the product works for me and I’m happy. My hair is slowly coming back, I have no side affects, my Doc gives me the green light and it’s not too expensive. Don’t expect a full head of hair in 3 months or really anything except for the product to stop your balding at that point. You should be happy with NOT loosing your hair anymore for only using a product for 3 months. Anyway, I’ll keep using this product as it works for me with the pills only.

    Dave,
My scabs are drying and peeling off. I still have 4 bottle of provillus left. I wonder when my scalp is sufficiently healed I should just use the provillus once a day until the bottles are gone and then proceed with 2% rogaine. I have developed some small spots on my scalp because of the peeling scabs.

That’s what I would do. Maybe your scalp can tolerate 5% once a day or 2% once or twice a day. The more the better, but I only use the 2% once a day.

I’ve been using Provillus for 5 1/2 months now, and haven’t seen any significant results. I only have frontal balding (receding hairline) and they specifically say that Provillus doesn’t treat that, so this report doesn’t mean the product is bunk. I haven’t lost any more hair since I started using it, and can see some (maybe new?) tiny peach-fuzzy hairs in the areas I’ve been applying the topical, but that’s about it. I took the pills and applied the topical – followed the instructions well. Had no side effects. If I would’ve balded more without taking Provillus then it was worth it, but otherwise I think I wasted $215.

Hi, I’m reporting again to let you know I was unsuccessful in resuming my daily drops. I woke up this morning and saw how redden my vertex area was from the provillus drops. I’ll have to postpone the daily drops until the redness hopefully disappears. I also noticed since the original postponemnet of treatment due to the reactions I posted earlier (itchiness, pealing, bleeding, etc.) the vertex area has expanded.

I started Provillus about 18 months ago. Used topical and oral supplement for 6 months and saw minimal results. Stopped using and after 4 months of non-use, saw drastic results in the wrong direction. I ordered another 6 month supply to see if it reversed the trend and it did as well as some new growth showing after 6 months use (again). My personal conclusion is that I am not starting on a “even plane” trying to grow hair; but instead I need to fight the loss and any NEW growth is kind of a bonus.

as a provillus beneficiary, i have to defend this product

Im almost done with my second bottle of provillus+their minoxidill and i can already see some surprising results.

I am not very bald, but over the last few years, the frontal area ( recedign hairlines) was getting thinner and thinnier ( M line? ) however, after having taken provillus for almost 2 month now, the problem has started to improve and I started to see some regrowth on the sides area of the frontal areas

before using provillus, i had been using Rogaine foam for 11 momths and it did not work too well for me.

honestly, I am not too sure how the ingredients work but it sure work for me. im really thrilled with the current result, although the results are not that massive but i am optimistic that it can further improve my hair problem

    thanks

It has been three months since my last report. The progress has been painfully slow. I think I have hairs growing on my bald spot. I pray it is not my imagination. This will mark 10 months (excluding the two months in March and April where I ceased using provillus or anything else because of the intense itching and bleeding from the scratching). Since going on once a day in May using Rogaine, the itching continues but not as intense and some hair “seems” to be growing though nothing to use as a testimony to any effectiveness of Rogaine or Provillus. For some reason, I find Provillus to cause more itching than Rogaine purchased from BJ’s Wholesale club. I occasionally alternate the bottles of Rogaine and Provillus. I plan to continue for another three months before all hope is lost. I don’t want to resort to a hair transplant or even cutting all my hair off and try the macho bald head look. That Bruce Willis look doesn’t go with my image. Anyone with better suggestions is highly appreciated.

Sky, don’t go away. I have same doubts about some of the posters myself but I still read their posts. I try to post every three months so I am a little early today. I have used Rogaine and alternate with provillus (not the same day) for 11 1/2 months now. The itching still continues and I have been hoping my scalp would get acclimated to the serum but it looks like I will itch as long as I use these two treatments. There is some hairs growing in the bald sport on top of my head but still I would never claim these two treatments are successful. Perhaps they are preventing my head from losing more hair. I feel like we are drug addicts and these are our fixes and I am sure the hair companies love that. Anyway, I have learned to comb my hair to make my bald sport less conspicuous but my daughter took a photo picture of me reading a book from the balcony and I saw a terrible bald spot on the middle of my head. That was very sad since this is almost one year using provillus. I do not believe the posters who claim their provillus worked in less than 12 months. You must be having illusions. Anyway, I promise to give you an update before the end of the year.

provillus and a few tricks worked for me
I just checked back to see if this blog is still going. I originally posted back at #529 and 530. I’ve had pretty amazing results. As I said I was very noticeably losing hair on my crown. To the point where I saw a video I was in and could definitely see a bald spot. So I began searching for ways to help. A big problem is not having a healthy scalp. I bought some stupid “ebook” that was really a $50 ripoff from stopyourhairloss.com called How To Naturally Regrow Lost Hair in 15 Minutes a Day. It includes all kinds of other junk about other natural remedies that don’t pertain to hairloss at all, but I got 3 ideas from it that I do every day. Everyday before I shower I take 5 minutes to do these 3 things: 1) scalp massage for a few minutes. 2) Grab and lightly pull on my hair, just hard enough to feel the pressure. These 2 things stimulate bloodflow to your scalp which is very important. Then I brush my hair for a couple minutes to get all the dead hairs out of the way which helps leave fertile ground for new hairs. Then for my shampoo I alternate every couple months between Euphora which is just great for your hair and Nioxin. Alternating is important to keep your scalp stimulated, like I said I alternate every couple months. And I like Provillus a lot. I started with a 2 month kit, then went to 4 since it said to allow 6 months to see results. 6 months later my very noticeably thiinning area has filled in completely, so I’m about to order the 6 month pack and continue. I can’t say for sure what has had the greatest impact, but this recipe is working so I’m going to keep it going. Oh and one more tip from that ebook – with a firm hairbrush, boar-bristle or something similar, tap your scalp for a minute every day. Again, it causes bloodflow to the scalp. I do it right before I put the Provillus drops on at night, thinking maybe stimulating my scalp and hitting it with Provillus helps a bit extra? I have no idea if thats true or not but like I said this routine is working, and its simple and easy so I’m going to keep doing it. Ho
